Job summary:

BlueOptima is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join our dynamic Platform team. You
will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure using AWS, while
contributing to the overall platform development with your programming expertise.

Responsibilities:

● Infrastructure Design and Management:


○ Design and implement highly scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services.
○ Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
○ Manage and optimise cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
○ Implement automation solutions for infrastructure provisioning and management.
● Platform Development and Support:
○ Collaborate with application teams to understand their requirements and design platform
solutions.
○ Develop and maintain platform components using your programming language expertise
(Java/Python preferred).
○ Assist in troubleshooting and resolving platform-related issues.
○ Contribute to continuous improvement of the platform architecture and processes.
○ Contribute to the definition and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
● Observability and Monitoring:
○ Work with the team to implement and maintain monitoring solutions for infrastructure and
applications.
○ Analyse and interpret logs and metrics to identify potential issues and optimise performance.
○ Define and implement alerting mechanisms for proactive problem detection.
Your Team:

The Platform team at BlueOptima plays a crucial role in providing a scalable technology platform for product
development, adhering to our core principles of Self Service and Containerization. We collaborate with product
teams to:

● Self Service:
○ Empower developers with self-service tools and automation to provision and manage their own
infrastructure resources, promoting agility and faster development cycles.
● Containerization:
○ Focus on containerizing application stacks to ensure consistency across development, CI/CD,
and production environments. This approach enables portability, scalability, and faster
deployments.

What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima:

● Minimum bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.


● 2+ years of experience designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS.
● 2-4 years of experience with a programming language like Java or Python.
● Proven experience writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
● Strong understanding of core AWS services and best practices.
● Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef (With Ansible is a plus).
● Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
● Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
● Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
● Ability to analyse and interpret logs and metrics.
● Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
