Health

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or
infirmity.

Social Health
 Social health refers to the quality of a person's interactions and relationships with others within their
community or society.
 It includes the ability to form meaningful connections, communicate effectively, and engage in positive
social interactions.
 Socially healthy individuals feel a sense of belonging, acceptance, and support from their peers, family, and
broader social networks.
 They demonstrate empathy, respect for others, and the ability to collaborate and cooperate in various social
settings.

Mental Health
 Mental health refers to the state of emotional and rational well-being.
 It includes the ability to cope with stress, manage emotions, maintain positive relationships, and make
sound decisions.
 Mental health influences how individuals think, feel, and act in response to life's challenges and
experiences.
 It is characterized by a sense of self-worth, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changes and setbacks.
 Mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, can affect one's thoughts,
feelings, and behaviors, impacting their overall quality of life.
 Promoting mental health involves fostering positive self-esteem, seeking support when needed, and
practicing self-care activities that promote emotional well-being.

Physical Health
 Physical health refers to the overall condition and functioning of the body, including physical fitness,
nutrition, and the absence of illness or disease.
 It involves maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, proper nutrition, adequate rest, and
avoiding harmful habits such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
 Physical health includes various aspects such as cardiovascular health, muscular strength and endurance,
flexibility, and body composition.
 A physically healthy individual has the energy, strength, and resilience to perform daily activities, recover
from illnesses or injuries, and enjoy a high quality of life.

Fitness

Fitness is the ability to carry out daily activities efficiently and effectively, and to have enough energy to enjoy
leisure time activities and meet emergencies.

Types of Health and Fitness

 Physical fitness is an essential aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Developing a variety of fitness skills helps you
stay healthy, active, and energized. Here are the key fitness skills you should focus on:

1. Cardiovascular Endurance

 Skill: Ability of the heart and lungs to supply oxygen to the body during prolonged physical activity.
