AN ACCIDENT AT WORK
Andrea Jones works in a computer assembly factory; she is in her twenties. Her 25th birthday is on July 10th. Today she wakes up very early because it is a very important day. People are ready to celebrate national holidays in her company. The company is in Sacramento, California. Her boss asks her to finish the last computer of the week by 12p.m. She is very nervous because one of her colleagues is sick in bed and cannot go to work and help her assemble the computer. She does not remember to wear safety shoes, and she also forgets to wear an apron. Suddenly, there is a power cut, and everybody is worried because Andrea is lying on the floor and an ambulance horn is on. Her boss calls Marcus Jones and asks him to go to the local hospital. Today is July 4th and Andrea wakes up in the hospital and tells the nurse she is ok. But the nurse tells her that she has several burns on her hands and fingers. The nurse realizes that Andrea is in pain. She is about to administer Diclofenac analgesic but she reads Andrea’s admission papers and she decides to administer Lidocaine.
