LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 3

Complete the grammar using common nouns and proper nouns in simple sentences. (EN3G-

They will arrange the jumbled letters on the answer sheet. You have 3 minutes to complete the

C. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION
There are two kinds of nouns, proper noun and common nouns.

Common Nouns- are the general names of people, places, animals, things. We write common
nouns in small letters.
Example: doctor, school, restaurant

Proper Nouns- are particular names of people, places, and things. They are written in Capital
letters.
Example: Dr. John Dela Cruz, New Baguio ES, Jollibee
D. ACTIVITY
The teacher provides activities to identify common and proper nouns in sentences.

Box the Proper Nouns and circle the Common Nouns in the sentences.
1. Nica loves to eat candies.
2. The girl studies in Santa Rita Elementary School.
3. Jen loves her cat very much.
4. The teacher teaches English.
5. She bought her bag in New York.

E. APPLICATION

Group Activity
I will be dividing you into two (2) groups. This activity is called “Is it Common Noun or Proper
Noun?”.
Each group will be given an envelope.
The envelope contains different activity sheets. Each group must have a leader and a reporter.

F. GENERALIZATION
So, class based on our activity, how would you know if it is a proper noun and common noun?
Give examples of it.
IV. EVALUATION:
A. Box the common noun in each sentence.
1. Mr. Jambi has a big bag.
2. My sister is good.
3. The red cabinet is open.
4. The zebras are running aways.
5. I have a cat at home.
B. Encircle the proper noun in each sentence.
1. My friend bought me a Jollibee yum burger.
2. He went to Kidapawan City last week.
3. Jane loves colorful flowers.
4. We stayed at Aj Hi Time Hotel.
5. Mrs. Bernardo donated chairs in school.
V. ASSIGNMENT:
Write your Assignment in your assignment notebook.
Some proper nouns in the following sentences are not correctly written. Rewrite them on the
lines provided.
1. christmas is my favorite holiday.
2. Mt. pinatubo and Mt. Mayon are both active volcanoes.
3. Miss barrera is our guidance counselor.
4. The philippines has three major islands.
5.The province of bohol is the site of the blood compact between Legazpi and Sikatuna.
