Andreas Busch Member of the Bayer HealthCare Executive Committee and Head of Global Drug Discovery, Bayer HealthCare, Germany
Andreas has been a member of the Bayer HealthCare Executive Committee as Head of Pharmaceuticals Research since February 2007. He has also been in charge of Research in the Animal Health Division since March 2011. Andreas has worked at various research institutes in Germany and USA. prior to joining the industry. His scientic work has been recognised with the Franz Volhard and a Sir Bernhard Katz Awards. At this conference, Andreas will share his views on partnerships and collaborations with biotechs and research institutes. Anand Tharmaratnam Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Markets, Clinical Development, Quintiles, Singapore
Anand is responsible for the Quintiles clinical development business across the Asia Pacic region, including Japan. He has built a wealth of industry experience he was tasked with setting up the Quintiles ECG Lab in Mumbai, India in 2001; the rst global ECG lab outside of Europe or the USA. Anand was also instrumental in setting up international alliances for the business in Hawaii, Brazil and Peru. He had held numerous positions at Quintiles, and this includes the appointment of Medical Director for Quintiles Europe as well as Chief Executive Ofcer of Quintiles Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Korea. At this conference, Anand will share his opinions on the growth opportunities in Asia for the biopharmaceutical industry and relate his experiences on strategic business partnership models that can help fuel this growth.

Chihiro Yokota Corporate Executive, Global Head of Business Development/Licensing & Alliances, Astellas Pharma, Japan
Chihiro has more than 30 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and is a highly regarded individual of the industry. He has led the companys global business expansion and managed several deals including the acquisition of OSI Pharmaceuticals and alliances with Ambit Biosciences and Medivation. Prior to his current position, Chihiro served as Global Head of Project Management at Astellas Pharma Global Development. He also previously held the position of Vice President of Clinical Research at Fujisawa Research Institute of America. With his vast experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Chihiro will be sharing his views on how Asia can be capitalised as a source of growth and innovation for pharmas to strengthen their drug development pipelines.

Saloman Azoulay Senior Vice President, Medical and Development, Emerging Markets/ Established Products Business Units, Pzer, USA
Saloman has accumulated a wealth of experience on developing businesses and partnerships in emerging markets like Russia, China and India. He was appointed to lead the development organisation in Tokyo in 2006 where he supervised more than 400 colleagues and was accountable for a number of drug approvals and regulatory submissions. Saloman has led the team for the ling of the varenicline (Champix) smoking cessation programme in the USA. and EU in 2003, where he successfully received a priority review by the U.S. FDA (with a review period of 6 months) due to its demonstrated effectiveness in clinical trials. At this conference, Saloman will be relating his experiences in adopting strategic business models for the emerging markets with a focus on business development and partnership opportunities in Asian powerhouses China and India.
