Background Introduction

• The Cement
• Concrete and its usages
• Small scale Construction in day to day
• Scenario Behind opened Cement Bags
❑ Objective of the Project
• Investigate the Slump value and compressive Strength (30 days)
of grade M20 with different exposure conditions after the cement
bag remain open

❑ Procedure of the Project

• Select Materials and find its suitability
• Select the Cement and test for SLS 107
• Set the Exposure conditions and continue the trials
Material Testing and Results

• Sieve Analysis test for Fine aggregates

• Specific Gravity and Absorption test for Coarse and Fine aggregates
• Setting time Test
• Slump Test
• Cube Test (Compressive Strength Test)

Mix Design
What is mix design and why need to do a Concrete trial Mix

Results and observations
• Slump results have not significant variation.
• In Compressive Strength Test results lowest strength and the rapid drop
shows from the Sever Exposure Condition.
• Mild Exposure Condition shows the long period of strength than the other
two types of conditions.
Discussion
• We select 3 days interval for Testing the concrete samples.
➢ We expect no sever strength reduction during one day interval
➢ Difficulties of using laboratory facilities and lack of human resources.

• Entire Cement Bag to be assumed similarly deteriorated

• Climate condition is assumed same during the entire testing period.

Conclusions and Recommendations

• Suitability of Three Cement Bags on same kind of conditions

• Suggestions for reuse (Precautions)

• Protection methods and Caregiving

Conclusions and Recommendations
Suitability of Three Cement Bags on same kind of conditions

• For structural purposes within result days

• Use For pavement construction and Screed concreting works
• Use for temperory cement works
1. Make a barier arround the newly construct slab for curing purposes
2. To protect Reinforcement bars which lies for future purposes
Conclusions and Recommendations
• Suggestions for reuse (Precautions)

• Mixed with fresh Cements

• Crushed and sieve

• Protection methods and Caregiving

Keep the Cement bag indoor after opening

tightning the cement bag
Keep horizontally and turn the possition of cement
bag regulary
