CAMERON

APPLIED
RESEARCH &
DEVELOPMENT
Cameron Applied Research and Development (CARD)
has been developing equipment to support
the corrosion mitigation industry since 1988.
Over this period we have developed a
range of devices although our main efforts
have been in data loggers, STRAYCORDER,
for monitoring CP protection systems.

SENTINAL
Sentinal is a single channel data logger designed primarily for permanent installation
at a test point to be visited periodically to download the last few days (depending on sample rate) data.
Data can be downloaded using a Palm PDA and saved for later processing on a PC,
this removes the need for operators to carry a notebook computer to difficult to reach test points.
InfraRed interface provides electrical isolation between the logger (structure and the downloading
equipment.)

Completely portable, uses a Lithium battery that may last 10 years or more guaranteed for 2 years

Small and lightweight Fully water-proof - Pressure to 1 atmosphere

Input range for voltage monitoring of +/-10 V

Program using supplied Windows software written specifically

for SENTINAL and STRAYCORDER

Infra Red interface to PC or Palm PDA for downloading data

28K memory giving typically 28,000 readings

SPECIFICATIONS
Voltage Range: Input 1 +/-10V

Input Impedance: 10 Mohms
Normal Mode Rejection Ratio: 60dB at 50 Hz (1 Kohms imbalance)
Maximum Input Voltage: 1,000V D.C. or peak A.C. for 2 seconds
Voltage Reading Period: Adjustable from 1 second to 255
seconds in 1 second increments

STRAYCORDER PCL-300
Straycorder is a three channel data logger designed for monitoring voltages and currents on structures in
stray current areas. Electro optical interface provides electrical isolation between the logger (structure)
and the downloading computer.

Completely portable, uses Lithium batteries that last between 2 -7 years before replacement

Small and lightweight Fully water-proof – Pressure to 1 atmosphere

Multiple input ranges for current shunt and voltage monitoring up to 1000V

Program using supplied DOS or Windows software written specifically for the STRAYCORDER

Flexibility to record up to 8 times at separate locations

128K memory giving typically 120,000 readings

SPECIFICATIONS
Voltage Ranges: Input 1 +/-10V
Input 2 +/-200 or +/-400mV (for use with current shunt)
Input 3 +/- 100mV or +/- 1V or +/-10 or +/-100V or +/-1000V
Accuracy: 0.2% of full scale on Inputs 1 & 2; 1% of full scale on Input 3

DATA LOGGER
SUPORT SOFTWARE
The STRAYCORDER and SENTINAL loggers come with a common Windows software application
allowing the operator to set up for recording plus process, present and archive the data.

• All readings taken can be corrected by an offset nominated by the user.

The offset is the earth stake value (typically 600mV) which is added to the
readings when on the +/- 10V scale

• Parameters extracted: Average, maximum and time below/above a nominated value

(Time below/above a nominated value refers to the total time that the sampled readings are
less/more than a voltage specified by the operator; typically 850mV).
In addition it is possible to designate a period (e.g. between 2.00am –4.00am) during which
the sampled readings do not update the progressive values but the readings are still stored.

• Instrument identification number assigned to data logger available when the data is read.

• Data plus header can be saved to disc for later processing or archive purposes.

• A chart based on the data plus user input can be produced and then sent to a printer,
The Windows application can also send the chart to a file or the clipboard for use in
other Windows programs.

• Some parameters such as the earth stake voltage can be changed after recording whilst
others such as recording times are fixed.
