•The Second UNWGIC will focus on the Theme ‘Geo-

Enabling the Global Village: No one should be left behind.'
• The conference will see participation of over 550 Delegates
from 115 Countries to discuss issues related to development
and strengthening of integrated geospatial information
management.
• Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh will
present the geospatial 'Chaupal' initiative that seeks to link
village communities with geospatial services.
About UNWGIC:
• Organised By: United Nation Committee of Experts on
Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM)
• Objective: To enhance international collaboration among
the Member States in Geospatial information management
and capacities.
• Timeframe: It is conducted every 4 years. 1st UNWGIC was
organized by China in 2018.
• Theme of Second UNWGIC: Geo-enabling the Global
Village.
