MetLife Bangladesh has launched a new cashless outpatient service exclusively for organizations
providing life & health insurance to their employees through MetLife. This new service enables
employees to receive outpatient hospital services without paying any cash upfront at hospital
counters.
Outpatient services include outdoor consultation, prescribed medicines and investigations
administered without an overnight stay at a hospital.
This service, in addition to the existing cashless hospital admission facility, will benefit over
300,000 employees from 900+ organizations that have availed MetLife's employee insurance.
These services will also be available to the dependents of these employees.
The introduction of cashless outpatient services offers significant advantages. Employees will no
longer need to pay cash at hospital counters, eliminating the stress of upfront medical expenses.
By removing this financial burden, employees can focus on their health and well-being without
the distraction of financial worries. This service also streamlines the medical care process,
allowing employees to receive the care they need promptly and efficiently.
Commenting on this newly launched service, MetLife Bangladesh's Chief Executive Officer, Ala
Ahmad, said, "We want to help our customers focus on their wellbeing and not worry over
expenses when they go to a hospital. That is why this holistic approach to employee insurance will
help organizations demonstrate their care to their employees and their families."
Cashless facility is subject to the financial limit set by organizations. Initially, the cashless
outpatient service is available at United Hospital Limited. More hospitals offering this service will
be added throughout the year.

BRAC Bank TARA has launched an initiative to create education entrepreneurship opportunities
for women through the BRAC Kumon franchise owner programme.
Recently, TARA, the women's banking segment of BRAC Bank, hosted a workshop in partnership
with BRAC Kumon to educate potential franchise owners, reads a press release.
Over 40 enterprising TARA Retail customers attended the workshop on 29 June 2024, aiming to
become entrepreneurs.
This initiative is part of a collaboration with BRAC Kumon, which offers high-quality education
in Mathematics and English through the Kumon method. This method is designed to help students
develop strong self-learning skills and a deep understanding of these subjects.
Interested TARA customers will benefit from a waiver of BDT 50,000 on their license fee and an
EMI facility for purchasing furniture upon becoming BRAC Kumon franchise owners.
Additionally, there will be opportunities for financing from BRAC Bank.
At the event, several representatives from BRAC Bank shared their insights: Nurun Nahar Begum,
Chief Technology Officer; Mehruba Reza, Head of TARA, Agami, Premium Banking Segments;
Azizul Hoq, Head of Business Transformations and Product; and Faysal Haider, Regional Head,
Distribution Network. They discussed BRAC Bank TARA's initiatives to empower women and
enhance their capabilities.
From BRAC Kumon, Nehal Hasan, Head of BRAC Kumon; Sakeef Mahboob Bin Ahsan, Senior
Manager of Business Development and Accounts; and Insan Ul Haque, Manager of Project,
Partnership & Acquisition, provided a comprehensive overview of Kumon and the franchisee
experience. They also outlined the process, profitability, and key features of becoming a Kumon
franchise owner. Two successful BRAC Kumon franchise owners shared their success stories and
journey with Kumon.
Nibedita by Anika Islam' was appreciated for nominating aspiring women education entrepreneurs
to participate in the workshop.
This event aimed to offer entrepreneurial opportunities to women and provide educational and
financial benefits to the community. It underscores BRAC Bank TARA's commitment to women's
empowerment.
With the rapid expansion of Kumon Centers in Bangladesh, this collaboration is poised to
significantly impact education and access to financial services.

Walton, the electronics giant, and InterContinental Dhaka have joined forces to unveil a recipe
book titled “The Art of Fine Dining.” This collaboration aims to provide a new cooking experience
for Walton microwave oven customers, allowing them to recreate five-star hotel recipes in the
comfort of their own homes.
The recipe book features a collection of mouthwatering recipes curated by InterContinental’s
experienced and renowned Chef Md. Asaduzzaman. These recipes have been carefully crafted and
explained understandably, offering food lovers a unique culinary journey. The book’s unveiling
ceremony was attended by prominent figures from both Walton and InterContinental Dhaka.
Among those present were Walton’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) Mostafa Kamal, Deputy Chief
Business Officer (DCBO) Enamul Kabir, Senior Additional Operative Director Nazmul Islam, as
well as InterContinental’s South West Area General Manager Ashwani Nayar, Director of Sales
and Marketing Rezwan Maruf, and Director of Food & Beverage Olivier Loreaux.
Ashwani Nayar expressed his belief that the recipes in the book would leave a lasting impression
on food lovers, providing them with a new and memorable experience. Mostafa Kamal, Walton’s
CBO, emphasized that this initiative was taken to entertain food enthusiasts with a fresh and
exciting culinary adventure.
The recipe book will be supplied as a complimentary gift with every Walton microwave oven
purchased from Walton outlets, allowing customers to enjoy the benefits of this collaboration and
elevate their home cooking experience.
The joint unveiling of “The Art of Fine Dining” recipe book by Walton and InterContinental Dhaka

Green Grocery is presenting the “Aamlacious Mango Fest” at Banglish-ব াংlish, a vibrant
celebration spotlighting the mango. This eagerly anticipated event, taking place from June 1st to
