Q16 - Human Resource Management = Job Description DHL

The job description of a critical position in DHL Express includes a Program Manager

whose job description is as follows: The responsibilities include driving, leading, and supporting

all programs ("DHL jobs", 2021). Also, the position should help the country in quality-related

training of different programs. Lastly, the position should work with other stakeholders to realize

changes in various programs. The qualifications include a bachelor's degree in any discipline and

eight years of related experience in a sizeable company ("DHL jobs", 2021). The position also

requires the holder to have training and knowledge in the International Organization for

Standardization. Moreover, the ideal candidate should have strong project management skills and

excellent analytical skills ("DHL jobs", 2021). The candidate should also be in a position to solve

complex problems. In addition to the abovementioned requirements, the candidate should have a

good command of English and another relevant language ("DHL jobs", 2021). Also, the position

is suitable for a person who is attentive to detail and organized.

Q17- FEDEX

The job description for a senior marketing specialist at FedEx entails planning,

developing, and monitoring the implementation of a product ("FedEx Jobs", 2021). Also, the

position requires the office to handle placement and necessary promotional programs to support

marketing plans and corporate goals ("FedEx Jobs", 2021). The holder will ensure the company

achieves its volume and target goals of various products. In addition, the office holder is

supposed to analyze and recommend appropriate marketing opportunities ("FedEx Jobs", 2021).

Also, the position holder should recommend problems to be experienced and propose

optimization techniques that will enhance customer value to improve the marketing department

continuously ("FedEx Jobs", 2021). The required candidate should have a bachelor's degree in

marketing or its equivalent, but whoever has a master's degree will be advantageous. The

candidate should also have five years of marketing experience in a bustling corporate

environment ("FedEx Jobs", 2021). Besides local marketing experience, the candidate should

have international marketing promotional experience. Moreover, the ideal candidate should have

strong computer, analytical, research, and time management skills.

Q18 -Selection Both

The selection process for both organizations is similar in many aspects in that they both

obey the recruitment theory. For both companies, the application process is online, where

candidates send their documents for consideration (Roberts, 2017). Another similarity cutting

across both companies is a test in FedEx called an aptitude test, while in DHL, it is called a

critical reasoning test of personality and teamwork. After the aptitude test, both companies have

a waiting time where the candidates wait to be contacted by human resource representatives for

interview sessions. So the next step is the interview both companies conduct as a selection

process. Moreover, the two companies have another similarity in the interview stage. DHL and

FedEx perform two types of interviews; the first is a telephone interview, and the second is a

personal interview ("DHL Careers", 2022). However, there is a difference in the selection

process between the two companies, such that FedEx lacks a background check stage that DHL

lacks. Also, DHL is unique in its assessment center stage, where successful applicants gather to

interact with the company. The last selection process in both companies is onboarding, which

comprises document signing and orientation.
