TLS Software User Guide


Toyota Touch 2 with Go (Low/High)

1. Background
TLS (Transport Layer Security) is the protocol which secures HTTPS. This Software update is
targeted to improve cyber security features for Toyota Touch 2 with Go (Low/High) units connected services.

2. Acquire package & Input package in USB key


There are two different packages. One for High Multimedia unit & low.
The software package size for each of the two variants is:
- High: 1.74GB.
- Low: 502.7 MB.

2.1. Acquire the package


Firstly, go to your country Toyota site. E.g., UK “www.toyota.co.uk”. Select the right product for your Multimedia
unit. High or Low.
2.1.1. Log in in your e-store account.

2.1.2. After log in open e-store.

2.1.3. In e-store select the package to purchase/acquire.


Scroll down until you find the TLS product for software update.

2.1.4. Select the correct package


Notice that there are two different variants. There is variant High and low for 16MM. Select the one according to the
unit your car has. In case of selecting the wrong package the update will not initiate.

2.1.5. Acquire Software


To be able to download the package you will have to add to basket the product. FREE OF CHARGE.

Press “Checkout” to finalise adding to basket process.

2.1.10. Download package

The download should start straight away after you press the “Download To USB” button.

2.2. Unzip package in USB key


Use a USB stick of 16GB or 32GB size.

Please make sure your USB stick is empty and formatted as FAT32!

Copy the unzipped files to the root of your USB stick.

3. Transition from TLS1.0 to TLS1.2 Software Update


The following section describes the steps needed to perform the software update to transition to TLS1.2.

3.1. Go to “map”
Go to map context by pressing the “NAV” or “MAPS” hard key.

3.2. Start Update


Plug in USB key with the package previously downloaded from dealer site.
Attention, if the update does not start, review the steps taken from step 2 (make sure the right version for your
device (low or High) is downloaded)!

3.2.1. Press “yes”.


After inserting the USB key, the following pop-up will appear with the version 6.20.0SPWL. Press “yes” to start the
update.

3.2.2. Caution message shown. Confirm start update.


Once “yes” is pressed, a confirmation context will appear to continue with the update. Press “confirm” to proceed.

3.2.3. Radio request reset.


Once confirmed, Multimedia unit will request to reset to start the update.

3.2.4. Processing data.


Multimedia unit will start to evaluate the data.

3.2.5. Installation starts.

3.2.6. Update finalized.


Update has finalized accordingly. Now, remove USB key to finish the whole process.

After unplugging the USB key, the device will automatically reboot.

3.2.7. Update verification


To verify the version, follow the next step:
1- Press on Setup.
2- Press on General.
3- Scroll down and press on “System information”.
