for being chosen to participate in this years State Band.
Ursala , an 8th grade student, plays the flute. Stephanie, an 11th grade student, plays the bass clarinet. Both are members of the FCS Band. They will be departing for Tampa today. All chosen participants will practice together on Thursday & Friday. On Saturday, Jan. 14, they will perform in two concerts: one at 9:00am & one at 2:00pm at the Tampa Bay Convention Center. We are so very proud of both of you!

The 3rd Annual Franklin County School Miss Seahawk Pageant will be held Feb. 25 in the FCS Cafetorium. To be eligible, young ladies must be enrolled in Franklin County School, grades Pre-K through 11th. The entry fee is $60. There will be five age/grade divisions. Contact Ms. Lynn Clark at 850-228-2661 for a packet or more information. Registration forms along with $60 entry fee must be turned in by Feb. 3rd. Late registration with additional fee of $15 may be accepted up until Feb. 17th.

**K-5 Grade: Choice of One- Turkey & Gravy, Fiesta Chicken Salad, Cheese Lite Meal, or PBJ Sandwich Choice of Two- Fresh Orange, Mashed Potatoes, Northern Beans; May Select- Cherries, Whole Grain Roll

**Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration: Monday, Jan. 16, @ 11:00am at the National Guard
Armory in Apalachicola. Any church or civic group who would like to participate should contact Apostle Shirley White (8960650), Apostle Dolores Croom (653-5943), Evangelist Angeline Stanley (370-5943), or Bishop Robert L. Davis (653-5089) no later than Jan. 10.

GED CLASSES
GED Classes are now available through the TIGERS program at the Carrabelle & Apalachicola libraries. The next GED Test will be given Feb. 27 & 28, 2012 at the Franklin County School library at 6:00pm. To register for the test contact Maxine Creamer @ 670-4481. **The Federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act states that children & youth who lack a
