    NOVENA TO BL.

    CARLO ACUTIS

    (Novena: 3-11 October, Feast: 12 October)

    I. INTRODUCTORY PRAYER

    Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I thank you for all the grace and favours
    with which you enriched the soul of Blessed Carlo Acutis during his 15 years on this
    earth. You, who have given us the ardent testimony of the young Blessed Carlo Acutis,
    who made the Eucharist the core of his life and strength of his daily commitments so
    that everybody may love you above all else, let him soon be counted among the Saints in
    your Church.

    Confirm my Faith, nurture my Hope, strengthen my Charity in the image of young


    Carlo, who, growing in these virtues, now lives with you. I trust in you, Most Holy
    Trinity and the powerful intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mary and Blessed Carlo
    Acutis. Through the merits of this Angel of Youth, grant me the grace which I earnestly
    seek.

    II. MEDITATION AND PRAYER FOR EACH DAY

    DAY 1: 3 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "Not me, but God."
    "Our goal must be infinite, not the finite. The infinite is our homeland. Heaven has been
    waiting for us forever."
    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who made your life a continual renunciation and setting aside
    of unimportant things, give me the grace to seek heavenly things and despise that which
    is transient. Amen.

    DAY 2: 4 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "Always to be united with Jesus, that is my life's programme."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have lived in the heart of Jesus, give me the grace to apply
    Jesus's plan of love to everything. Amen.

    DAY 3: 5 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "Continuously ask your Guardian Angel for help. Your Guardian Angel has to become
    your best friend."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who saw the company of Holy Angels while you were already
    in this world, give me the Grace to live righteously, as my Guardian Angel desires.
    Amen.

    DAY 4: 6 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "Our soul is like a hot-air balloon... If by chance there is a mortal sin, the soul falls to the
    ground. Confession is like the fire underneath the balloon enabling the soul to rise
    again... It is important to go to confession often."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have lived this sacrament of reconciliation so well, give
    me the grace constantly to seek confession and the grace of a deep contrition. Amen.

    DAY 5: 7 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "Sadness is looking at ourselves, happiness is looking towards God."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have never looked away from your great love, Jesus, give
    me the grace also to live with this happiness in this world. Amen.
    DAY 6: 8 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "The only thing we have to ask God for, in prayer, is the desire to be holy."
    "What does it matter if you can win a thousand battles if you cannot win against your
    own corrupt passions? It doesn't matter. The real battle is with ourselves."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have always asked God for what is essential, give me the
    grace of a deep desire for Heaven. Amen.

    DAY 7: 9 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "The Virgin Mary is the only Woman in my life."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who loved the Virgin Mary above all women, give me the grace
    to respond to her kind and good love. Amen.

    DAY 8: 10 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    “The Sacrament of the Eucharist: My Highway to Heaven.”
    "The more Eucharist we receive, the more we will become like Jesus, so that on earth we
    will have a foretaste of heaven."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, you who have always looked for your hidden Jesus in the
    Tabernacle, give me the grace of a deep fervour for the Eucharist. Amen.

    DAY 9: 11 OCTOBER

    1. Meditation:
    "I am happy to die because I have lived my life without wasting a minute on those things
    which do not please God."
    "Do not be afraid because with the Incarnation of Jesus, death becomes life, and there's
    no need to escape: in eternal life, something extraordinary awaits us."

    2. Prayer:
    Blessed Carlo Acutis, give me that grace of graces - perseverance to the end and a saintly
    death. Amen.
    III. CONCLUDING PRAYER

    OPTION 1
    O God our Father, we thank you for giving us Carlo, a model of life for young people,
    and a message of love for all. You made him fall in love with your son Jesus, making the
    Eucharist his “highway to heaven.” You gave him Mary as a beloved mother, and you
    made him, through the Rosary, a cantor of her tenderness. Receive his prayer for us.
    Look above all upon the poor, whom he loved and assisted. Grant me too, through his
    intercession, the grace that I need

    (mention your intention).

    And make our joy full, raising Carlo among the saints of your Church, so that his smile
    shines again for us to the glory of your name. Amen.

    OPTION 2
    God, Our Father, provider for the poor, champion of the oppressed, defender of the
    widow and orphan, you called your servant, Blessed Carlo Acutis, to be an apostle of the
    Holy Eucharist and model of Christian youth and holy industry. Through the example of
    his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, fulfilling his commandment of
    charity more closely and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of
    Blessed Carlo Acutis inspire us to greater confidence in your love so we may continue his
    work in spreading your love for us in your Eucharistic Presence. We humbly ask that you
    glorify Blessed Carlo Acutis on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through
    his intercession, grant the favour I now present (make your request), through Christ our
    Lord. Amen.

    Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us!
