Section A

Answer ALL questions in this section. Each question carries 8 marks.

A2. A hot metal rod is immersed in 0 oC ice-cold water. The temperature


T , measured in oC, of the metal rod after t seconds is given by the
formula below, where K is a constant.

(i) The temperature of the rod is 140 oC when t = 0. Find the (2 marks)
expression of T in terms of t.

(ii) Find the value of the temperature T of the rod after 20 seconds.
