ABSTRACT

The technology industry is comprised of companies that design,

manufacture, or distribute electronic devices such as computers,
computer-related equipment, computer services and software,
scientific instruments, and electronic components and products.
Technology enables consumers and businesses to thrive in a digital
world.
The information technology (IT) sector includes companies that
produce software, hardware or semiconductor equipment, and
companies that provide internet or related services.
The three major industry groups within the IT sector are software and
services, technology hardware and equipment, and semiconductors
and semiconductor equipment. These three industry groups are further
divided into industries and sub-industries
Cloud computing technology is regarded as a highly useful
application for organization due to advantages such as long-term cost
saving, easy access of data at any given time and economically. In
fact, there are lots of free cloud storage provider these days whereby
user can easily store and shared their organizational data easily and
efficiently. Both government and private sectors are looking into
optimizing their cloud data storage.
However, some of them are still in the early implementation phase
with issues on both technological and human factors need to be
properly taken care of to ensure its success. In the case of Malaysia
our Government highly encouraged the use of cloud computing
technology. Given that it is in the early implementation phase it is
important to understand the factors that contribute to the use of cloud
computing. This study, review studies done in health. Higher learning
institution and public sector. It was found that the most contributing
factors for use or cloud computing are technology readiness, human
readiness, organization support, environment and, security and
privacy. We hope that this study will help strengthen our knowledge
and readiness in implementation of cloud computing.
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including
servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and
intelligence—over the Internet ("the cloud") to offer faster innovation,
flexible resources, and economies of scale.
Cloud computing technology gives users access to storage, files,
software, and servers through their internet-connected devices:
computers, smartphones, tablets, and wearables. Cloud computing
providers store and process data in a location that’s separate from end
users.
Essentially, cloud computing means having the ability to store and
access data and programs over the internet instead of on a hard drive.
This means businesses of any size can harness powerful software and
IT infrastructure to become bigger, leaner, and more agile, as well as
compete with much larger companies. Unlike with traditional
hardware and software, cloud computing helps businesses stay at the
forefront of technology without having to make large investments in
purchasing, maintaining, and servicing equipment themselves.
IT Cloud solutions serve as a virtual platform that combines
computation, storage, and network infrastructure. This platform
enables the rapid deployment of applications and the ability to scale
dynamically. Moreover, self-service plays a vital role in cloud
computing models as it allows users to easily and swiftly begin by
completing an online form. Located at the opposite end of your
internet connection, IT Cloud solutions provide access to various
applications and services while ensuring the secure storage of your
data. In today's dynamic business environment, small business owners
require the ability to access data and applications from their personal
computers, tablets, or mobile phones, whether they are in the office,
out in the field, or on the go. This access is facilitated through cloud
computing and an internet connection. Even if you are not aware of it,
you are already utilizing cloud computing models. Additionally, cloud
computing solutions enable seamless email communication, document
collaboration, file storage, and video streaming through online
services such as Gmail or Outlook 365.
WHAT ARE THE 3 TYPES OF CLOUD COMPUTING?
TYPES PF CLOUD COMPUTING
There are many types of cloud computing, including Software as a
Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a
Service (IaaS).

SaaS
SaaS is a form of cloud computing in which users can access software
applications without needing to download, install, or store that
software and its various components on their devices or hard drive.
Most cloud computing software of this kind is subscription-based
with an annual or monthly fee. In return, users get seamless solutions
and features without needing hardware, being bogged down by
installing updates, or other maintenance tasks.
When it was founded, Salesforce was one of the first cloud computing
and SaaS companies. Its Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Service
Cloud are all cloud-based software applications.

PaaS
Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a cloud computing solution that
provides developers with an easy-to-use platform to create their own
software, web applications, or other programming projects.
Businesses use PaaS to create proprietary apps and programs without
the need for servers or special testing environments.
Salesforce has been in the PaaS market for over a decade and is the
leader in enterprise PaaS. The Salesforce Platform gives cPlatform as

the power to build apps and services with Heroku Enterprise, Private

versatility allows developers to write code in the language of their
choice, and it integrates with other cloud computing products that use
customer data, which allows companies to track an app’s
performance.

IaaS
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides companies with access to
servers, firewalls, virtual machines, storage, and other infrastructure.
It’s ideal for companies that create highly specialized or unique
proprietary applications, but don’t want to spend time or other
resources buying, storing, setting up, or maintaining the necessary
equipment. Instead, they access ready-to-use infrastructure over the
internet.
OPPORTUNITIES OF CLOUD COMPUTING:

• Scalability: Cloud computing gives businesses the ability to

scale up or down quickly and efficiently, allowing them to adapt
to changing business needs and fluctuations in demand.

• Cost savings: Cloud computing can significantly reduce IT

costs by eliminating the need for expensive hardware, software
and infrastructure. This allows businesses to pay only for the
resources they use, making it more cost-effective than
traditional IT models.
• Accessibility:Cloud Computing enables businesses to access
their data and applications from anywhere in the world, as long
as they have an Internet connection.

• Collaboration: Cloud computing makes it easier for teams to

collaborate on projects, regardless of their location, by providing
a centralized platform to store and share data.

• Innovation: Cloud computing enables businesses to rapidly

develop and deploy new applications and services, accelerating
innovation and time-to-market.
• Unlimited Storage Capacity: The cloud comes with almost
unlimited storage capacity, which can be expanded at any time
with a nominal monthly fee.

• Ease of execution: Organizations can manage the same

applications and processes through cloud hosting without the
need to handle backend technology. Cloud infrastructure is
readily available.

• No hardware required: There is no need for a physical storage

center as the cloud hosts everything. However, backup is
suggested for disaster management and continuity of the
organization.
REASON BEHIND POPULARITY OF CLOUD SERVICES:
1. It’s Secure and Reliable
Your data security is never 100% guaranteed but if your storage and
data is held on a cloud server, the chances are it’s secure. Gartner
estimates that cloud infrastructure will suffer at least 60% fewer
security incidents than those in traditional data centres.
2. It Gives You Access
One of the reasons why the cloud is popular is because it’s accessible
anywhere.
Yes, you need an internet connection, but for most businesses and
employees reading this, that shouldn’t be a problem. In a world which
recognises the benefits of remote or hybrid working, it pays to allow
your employees to be able to do their job away from the office.
3. It’s Scalable
For those businesses just starting out, the software and storage you
use, will simply grow with the business.
In an ideal world, as revenue increases, the proportion of your budget
allocated to that service should stay roughly the same, although it’s
not always the most affordable solution.
For most businesses it presents a level of convenience that you don’t
get with physical assets and one-time purchases. Rather than putting
off scaling the business because of the requirement for a large
investment into onsite computing power, cloud solutions allow you to
push a button and upgrade there and then.
4. It’s Cost Effective (Or Is It?)
Here we must admit there’s arguments that go both ways. Price is
often touted as a reason to switch to cloud computing. But the truth is
it’s rarely the reason why people pick cloud computing over onsite
solutions.
There are clear cost savings to cloud computing. Yes, you don’t have
to shell out that large initial cost for physical infrastructure so it’s
certainly more attainable in the short term. But you also don’t need to
worry about anywhere near as many ongoing costs.
A lot of the additional costs for onsite storage and software are all
covered in the monthly fee you pay to a cloud computing vendor.
