I. REFLECTIVE JOURNAL
2. Critical reflection
First and foremost, I have got access to the philosophy of “Ikigai”. It assists me in
finding meaning of lives and comprehending the significance of work I would take over.
Simultaneously, the workshops confirm to me the difficulty of the way to get the
combination of aspects. Nevertheless, I am going to make efforts to better my career
prospects.
Next, former students are really enthusiastic. Their knowledge and experience in
various enterprises inspires me a lot. They help me choose a suitable job, update the latest
job tendency and define my ability. These are indispensable factors to better myself and
assist me to always be ready for my challenges. More importantly, it is very useful when
a lot of websites which assist to define the type of suitable job are also shown to all of us
in workshops.
Besides, critical thinking that I have learnt is also a key for career success. It helps
people analyze information and plan systematically.. Moreover, critical thinking
enhances language and presentation skills. Thinking clearly and systematically can
improve the way I express our ideas. In learning how to analyze the logical structure of
texts, critical thinking also improves comprehension abilities. Critical thinking is valued
both in the university setting and in the professional situations I will find myself in after I
graduate, and is part of lifelong learning. Critical thinking is important in life. It helps me
to think creatively – ‘outside the box’. It can keep me from becoming narrow-minded.
Critical thinking is really expected of me in higher education. It can lead to developing
my judgment, evaluation and problem solving abilities. It is undeniable that critical
thinkers always make the best choices.
Last but not least, SMART goals. I have comprehended the way to achieve my
goals on time. Knowing how much time I have to accomplish a goal makes me more
likely to do what I need to do to get it done on time. If I do not set a solid time frame for
our goals, I am less likely to see our plans through, continually putting them off for
tomorrow. The sad thing is, tomorrow may never come. So, with any goal or project,
one of the most important things to know is “how much time we have to complete it.”
Moreover, the field trip to the business also overwhelmed me and my goal of
working in a top-notch corporation has been strengthened.
I reckon that I learnt a lot about job tendencies, various skills and how to define
my ability, and they all were really useful especially through useful and essential
concepts. Not something I find myself saying about workshops very often! It was
relevant for us all – students with the dream of a future job. All enjoy and learn a lot in a
comfortable environment. On the other hand, I used to be quite subjective when I thought
that the knowledge I learned was enough so that I could develop myself. But what
surprised me was the information presented through the concepts. They are truly perfect
although it takes time to fully comprehend. Finally, I have faced many problems when I
define my future, but now I am much better and confident to deal with challenges.
