Label Manufacturing Process

The process of coating a Self Adhesive label involves multiple steps, including:

● Backing material (Liner): The backing material, such as glassine paper or plastic film.
● Applying the silicon coating -The backing material is coated with release coating.
● Adhesive coating: After the release coat is cured, adhesive will apply.
● Laminating: The face paper is laminated onto the liner substrate.
● Printing: The face stock is printed on and then die-cut into the desired shape.

● We also performed the application testing of given labels on given substrates.

● After 24 hours, there is no edge lifting and we are monitoring it further.
● Checked after 72 hrs as well, there is no lifting observed.

Probable Root Cause

● PET is more stiffer as compared PP, more stiffness may lead to edge lift.
● Stiffer material is difficult to perform without any hinge specifically for L shape
application.
● Mono carton surface (CCNB) boards also impact (Aq. coated, UV coated or
Laminated) surface affects adhesion performance.
● Carton handling , movement and storage may be the reasons of label lift off.

● No actions and improvement required at AD side.

● All product parameters are within a specification.

● Perforation may add hinge and improve adhesion for L shape application.
● PP face product can be used for L shape application. Less stiffer.
● Pressure has to be precise during application. Initial pressure should be good enough
to get ultimate adhesion.
