List of Motorcycle Manufacturers (Approved) For New Jersey: by VIN
The NJ Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) provides the following list of manufacturers
whose motorcycles meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and are
thereby approved for issuance of a New Jersey Title and Registration. The listed
manufacturers have obtained National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
certification and have been issued a World Manufacturer’s Identifier (WMI). Also, the
motorcycles meet standards promulgated by the Federal Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) for Noise Emissions and Exhaust Emissions. All motorcycles must have
permanently affixed NHTSA and EPA (2) labels before New Jersey can issue a title and
registration. Fully-electric motorcycles will only display a NHTSA label since electric
vehicles have no EPA measurable emissions. Listed below are the currently approved
manufacturers whose vehicles can be titled and registered in New Jersey:
NOTE: The Manufacturers’ List provided by the NJ MVC is intended for informational
purposes only. The Manufacturers’ List should not be construed as the MVC’s
endorsement of any manufacturer or motorcycle model contained on the List. The
roster is frequently updated to add approved manufacturers.
