The enlarged prostate gland blocks the urethra that alters the normal elimination pattern of urine which leads it to urinary retention. Goal and expected outcomes The patient will be able to void in sufficient amounts within 8 hours of rendering nursing care. Nursing interventions Independent: 1.)
