When the family looked for help, the homeless shelter wanted them apart and David didnt want that so they lived in their van outside a Wal Mart parkinglot. They now live in a hotel and the kids like that better than the car, however its still not much space. All of the children stuff have been taken such as, videogames, scooters, toys and clothes and they find their neighboorhood very scary because theyd hear in the news about shooting and that is

happening were they live. In grade school, thousands of children have lost their homes. There are example of people not having enough food and has to put on cereal to finish their meals, families have also looked for help in churches and that they find shameful. In addition to that, there isnt enough electricity and have to use candles and flashlights. One girl thought it was her fault her parents havent got money and have to everything for her and the kids struggle in school because part of the focus is on helping their parents. The numbers of homeless children increases about 5-15 children a day. Destinys family got out of the van and into a motel when her father got a job washing car and assisting a bricklayer, but didnt find anything steady. He wrote down on a sign that he needed help for his family of five. A woman saw the sign and said she could have a job for him and about a week later she rang him and got him a job as a parking attendant. Destiny and her brother say that when things get better, they are going to help others who face the same problem they had. The Motel Generation is going to live a longer life and some things are going to be much worse before they can get better. In the near future this generation will remember the feeling of hunger and not having a home but also people who helped them and opened a door to a better future.
