PREFACE
This Standard was prepared by the Joint Standards Australia / Standards New Zealand
Committee TM/7 on Sawn, Milled and Speciality Timber Products, to supersede the
following Standards:
AS
O93 Unseasoned cypress pine milled weatherboards (chamferboards)
O94 Unseasoned cypress pine milled lining
1810 Flooring milled from cypress pine
These Standards will be withdrawn on 30 June 1995, which will allow sufficient time for
adjustment.
This Standard is the result of a consensus among Australian and New Zealand
representatives on the Joint Committee to produce it as an Australian Standard.

This revision was undertaken to provide uniform grade descriptions and limits for two
grades of cypress pine milled products. This has resulted in changes to style, format and
expression, which accommodate current Standards Australia practice and include the
following:
(a) Introduction of two grades, 1 and 2, in descending order of quality.
(b) Greater emphasis on the application of seasoned cypress products.
The method of test for finger-jointing has been removed from this Standard. It will be
revised and included in the revision of AS 1080, Methods of testing timber, Method 4:
Determination of bending strength of glued end joints *.
The terms ‘normative’ and ‘informative’ have been used in this Standard to define the
application of the appendix to which they apply. A ‘normative’ appendix is an integral
part of a Standard, whereas an ‘informative’ appendix is only for information and
guidance.
