The crankshaft receives reciprocating motion from the pistons and converts it to rotational motion. It is the main driving shaft of an engine. Crankshafts can be made from a single piece or assembled from multiple pieces, with monolithic crankshafts being most common. Crankshafts are used in engines as well as other machines like air compressors, textile machines, refrigerators, and printers to convert reciprocating motion to rotational motion that can power these devices.

CRANK SHAFT
Definition of Crank Shaft:
The main driving shaft of an engine that receives reciprocating motion from the pistons and converts it to rotary motion .This leads to minimization in the pulsation characteristics of four-stroke cycle.. Together, the crankshaft and the connecting rods transform the pistons' reciprocating motion into rotary motion. Crankshafts can be monolithic (made in a single piece) or assembled from several pieces. Monolithic crankshafts are most common, but some smaller and larger engines use assembled crankshafts. Cast iron crankshafts are today mostly found in cheaper production engines where the loads are lower. Some engines also use cast iron crankshafts for low output versions. Today more and more manufacturers tend to favor the use of forged crankshafts due to their lighter weight, more compact dimensions and better inherent dampening. The more expensive high output version use forged steel.
TYPES OF CRANK SHAFTS Cranks have many uses and they can be found in some toys as part of a mechanism or in serious machinery such as car engines. Some cranks are attached to mechanisms that are difficult to turn or rotate in last centuries. It is a good example of a crank shaft. When a shaft has two or more cranks it can be called a crank shaft. A typical example of a crank shaft can be found on small mechanical vehicles made for young children. As the child peddles the crank shaft rotates the wheels and the vehicle moves forward.
Uses of Crankshaft We supply crankshafts used in air compressors, textile machines, refrigerators, printers, and internal combustion engine and so on....
Crankshaft (red), pistons (gray) in their cylinders (blue), and flywheel (black) Why are we using crankshafts today? Crankshaft is one of the most responsible parts of an engine which delivers the power of a connecting rod to a consumer as a mechanical energy. They sustain great dynamical load during the operating process.
Therefore they are made of special materials, and particular technologies of a final process give them firmness and durability.
They are available at pocket friendly prices. But some are very expensive and available at life time guarantee. There are various types of crank shaft so we use it. Whereas follow you can see that they are available in various designs which complete your requirement you can take it easily.
