PLOT
Exposition : Annemarie is a normal girl that
lives in Denmark with her lovely family and has
Ellen as her best friend and they care for each
other so much. Annemarie wants to help Ellens
family from been captured and killed or taken to
Concentration camps because they are Jews and
the Nazi solders are searching and capturing the
Jews.
Ellen gets separated from her family for a while.

Rising action : Annemaries family help the

Rosens family (Ellens family), by hiding them
in Uncle Henriks house and then Uncle Henriks
will take them to a save place were they can not
be captured by the German solders.

Climax : Ellen and her family are put in Uncle

Henriks boat so that he will take them to
Sweden , but Ellen needs to get a special tool
from her house before the solders search their
boat.

Resolution : Ellen and her family are finally save

in Sweden , thanks to Annemaries help, and
after two years the war has ended.

setting
The setting is Denmark Copenhagen, 1943 , at
that time the Nazi solders were relocating all
the Jews of Denmark .
The story most takes place in Uncle Henriks
house,

Main Idea
The main idea of my story is when Annemarie was
hiding Ellen from the Nazi solders , and it was
dangerous.

Character development
Annemarie at first was a normal happy girl that
had a family and a friend that really loved her,
she didnt know what being brave was until one
day she had to be brave , she didnt care about
being brave , now she knows what being brave
really means and that its not easy.

Theme
The theme is to be brave no matter what, no
matter how scary or hard the problem is, I
connect this to myself because when I was little I
had really bad problems and I didnt think I was
brave enough to handle them I just wanted to
give up but my mom told me to be brave its not
easy to be brave but we have to try.

Vocabulary words

1. Tantalize
2. Leashes
3. Scattered
4. Dread filled
5. Outdistance
6. Familiar
7. Finished
8. Desapeared

Context clues :

Spanish : Outdistance I know Out means

afuera in Spanish, distance means distancia,
thats how I used Spanish in this word.

Braking apart : Dread filled I know that dread

means something bad or unpleasant, and fill (root)
means to complete or to fill something, and ed
(suffix) means past tense.
Outdistance- Out means opposite of in, distance
(root) means space between, ed(suffix) means
past tense.
Unfinished- Un (prefix) means not, finish (root)
means done and ed(sffix) is past tense.
Dissapear- I know Dis (prefix) means distance,
appear (root) means come in sight, ed (suffix)
means past tense.

Genre
The genre of my book is Historical Fiction , I
believe that because the setting is in Germany
when there were Nazi solders.

Imagery
The night was quiet, too. A slight breeze moved
in the tops of the trees, and from the meadow
came the sound of the seas movement, which
was a constant sound here and had always been.
But no birds called or cried here now, in the
nigh. The cow slept in the barn, the kitten up
stairs in Kirstis arms.
The author could've just write, a breeze moved
the trees, but instead she chose stronger words
so that the reader could visualize.

Figurative Language
I will take it, she said . I know the way, and its
almost light now, I can run like the wind.
This shows a hyperbole because you cant
actually run like the wind , its just an
exaggeration .
There were stars here and there, dotting the sky
among thin clouds, but no moon.
I think this is important how the author uses
some of this words to catch the readers
attention.
