    WHAT IS A PRIME NUMBER?
    A prime number is a number that has EXACTLY
    two factors (nor more and no less).

    An easy way to identify a prime number is


    that they can only be divided by 1 and the
    number itselffor example 7, no other
    numbers can be divided into 7 other than
    1 and 7, so 7 is a prime number.
    WHAT IS A FACTOR?
    Factors are numbers that we multiply
    together to get another whole number.
    For example 2 and 3 are factors of 6.

    2x3=6
    WHAT IS A COMPOSITE
    NUMBER?
    A composite number is a number that has more than two factors,
    that is, it has more factors than just the number 1 and itself.

    So if 2 and 3 are factors of 6, as are 1 and 6, then 6 must be a


    composite number.

    All even numbers are divisible by 2, so all even numbers greater than
    2 are composite numbers.

    All numbers that end in 5 are divisible by 5, therefore all numbers


    that end in 5 and are greater than 5 are composite numbers.

    AND 1?
    The numbers 0 and 1 are neither prime nor composite.
