Definition: the act of sending
unsolicited electronic messages in
bulk.

Definition: A technique used to gain
unauthorized access to computers, whereby
the intruder sends messages to a computer
with an IP address indicating that the
message is coming from a trusted host.

legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam
the user into surrendering private
information that will be used for identity
theft.
