framework that defines the different dimensions of effective learning. WHY THE NEED FOR NCBTS?
Filipino teachers often get mixed signals about
what it means to be an EFFECTIVE TEACHER. WHO COULD USE THE NCBTS? • Anyone who is interested in improving teaching practices to design and implement effective pre-service teacher education curricula. • The PRC shall refer to the NCBTS in designing the licensure exam for teachers. • Organizations and agencies that implement in-service education for teachers (INSET) shall refer to the NCBTS in developing their interventions. • Award-giving bodies shall refer to the NCBTS in defining their criteria for outstanding teachers. DOMAIN 2: LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
• The teacher designs effective classrooms and creates an
fairness environment. • Makes the learning environment safe and conducive. • Communicates higher learning expectations • Establishes consistent standards of learner’s behavior. DOMAIN 3: DIVERSITY OF LEARNERS • The teacher establishes care and concern for the learners. • He/she familiarizes the learners • Concerned for the holistic development of the learners. DOMAIN 4: CURRICULUM • The teacher serves as master of the curriculum • Demonstrates mastery of the subject matter • Communicates clear learning goals and make use of allotted time • Selects appropriate tools • Recognizes general and unique learning processes and promotes purposive stud.
