CLEANING CHEMICALS
• POWDERED DETERGENT- This is used for
washing laundry.
• BLEACH- This is used for laundry purposes
which aids in maintaining the sheets white.
• DISINFECTANT- This is used to destroy
disease-carrying microorganisms.
• DEODORIZER- This eliminates foul odor and
maintains an odor-free environment.
CLEANING CHEMICALS
• DEGREASER- This is used to remove grease, oil
and the like.
• METAL POLISH- This is used to polish metal
fixtures.
• SEALER- This is used for floor cleaning
purposes.
• STRIPPER- This is used for floor cleaning that
strips off old applied waxes.
CLEANING CHEMICALS
• SOFTONER- This helps maintain linens and
clothes soft.
• WINDOW CLEANER- This is used for window
washing to keep it free from water stain and
other dirt.
• MARBLE POLISH- This is used to polish marble
surfaces
• ALL PURPOSE CLEANER (APC)- It can be use
for all types of cleaning.

• AMMONIA- Softens hard water and emulsifies
grease.
• METHYLATED SPIRIT- A type of alcohol used
to removed grease stains.
• WOOD POLISH- Polishes wood surface,
leather and imitation-leather surface.
• INSECTICIDES- Use for fumigation.
• MURIATIC ACID- A very strong chemical used
in removing cement and tough stains.

1. USE PRODUCTS PROPERLY
Follow instructions
Prevent waste
2. BE SURE THAT CLEANING TOOLS ARE IN
GOOD CONDITION BEFORE THEY ARE USED
3. FOR VACUUM CLEANER
Check bag and filters daily, replace if required
Check cord for fraying

Check plugs for loose connections.
Check handle carefully to prevent damage use
even strokes to cover entire area.
Start vacuuming at furthest point from exit
avoid hitting furniture and baseboards.
Look for and pick up small items with your
hands, not with vacuum cleaners.

Crevice tool for ledgers, corners and furniture
corners.
Small brush for furniture, upholstery, and

Clean vacuum cleaner
Report problems to maintenance department
4. For step ladder
Place on level, stable surfaces
Open and lock into position
Move ladder closer to object rather than
extending reach.

5. For toilet bowl brush
 Use only on inside of toilet bowl.
 Swish around bowl
 Ensure upper rim of bowl is cleaned
 Store in caddy
6. For push mop (dry dust mop)
 Clean mop head

7. For floor mop (wet mop)
Clean after use
Rinse with disinfectant
Squeeze out excess water
Hang to dry
8. For cleaning buckets
Cover areas with strokes in one direction
Clean after use

9. For cleaning buckets
 Label buckets and use for specified duties only
 Check that water temperature is not too hot
 Do not overfill ( at least ¾ full only)
 Clean after use
10.For rags and sponges
 Use clean, damp rag for dusting
 Have separate sponges/rags for cleaning
bathrooms

Do not use sponges/rags used on toilets on
any other surfaces
Clean after use (wash and allow to dry)
11.For gloves
Use proper gloves for the various tasks
Disposable gloves for stripping beds
Heavy duty gloves for toilets

 Industrial strength gloves for handling
hazardous material such as needles
 Wash and disinfect reusable gloves after
each use.
12.For spray nozzle bottles
 Use only for products authorized by property
 Label accordingly rinse nozzle before re-
filling
 Check for leaks or cracks
 Replace if needed.
