interpreter .
 Paul Allen was hired into MITS. Gates took absence from his hard ward university.
To work with Allen. They named their firm Micro –soft They had first office in
Albuqurque.
 On 26th November 1976 their firm Micro-Soft registered with the office of
secretary of new state Mexico .
Gates never returned to Harvard university. Micro basic was popular with computer
hobbyists.
 In February 1976 he wrote an Open letter to hobbyists to MITS. That they could
not produce , maintain without Paying high salary.
 Micro soft became independent in late 1976, it moved from Albuquerque to new
home Bellevue Washington on 1 Jan. 1979.

Pc. When IBM’s representatives They needed Operating System then Gates

with Licensing Agreement with IBM.

Operating System then he proposed using 86-Dos it was similar to PC/M.
o Microsoft delivered to IBM a Pc -DOS in Exchange of one time free $ 50,000.
o Bill gates did not offer to transfer to copy write of operating System.

On 25 June 1981, he re-incorporated the company in Washington.
Micro soft Launched his First retail version of Micro soft Windows.
In August company stuck a deal with IBM to develop a OS/2.
Although two companies developed first version successfully. Gates
distributed internal memo on 16th , 1991 announcing that OS/2
has over now Microsoft would shift its efforts to the Window NT
kernel Development.

Gates studied the work of Andrew Carnegie and
John D. Rockefeller and in 1994 sold some of his
Microsoft stock to create the William H. Gates
Foundation. In 2000, Gates and his wife combined
three family foundations into one to create the
charitable Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is
the largest transparently operated
charitable foundation in the world. As of 2007, Bill
and Melinda Gates were the second most generous
philanthropists in America.

Business Leadership of The Franklin Institute for his achievements in
business and for his philanthropic work.
