    Youth Ministry
    is a JOURNEY –
    involving God, the
    youth, and the rest
    of the ecclesial
    community.
    Youth Ministry
    is a HOUSE – God’s
    welcoming and abiding
    presence with the
    young, the place of life
    ad love, of mutual
    encounter and of
    fellowship for God’s
    family.
    The Filipino Catholic
    Youth
    By youth, we mean those single
    persons who are between 13-39 years
    of age; they are the main targets of
    youth ministry, but emerging as well
    are those who do not fall under those
    general characteristics (such as
    unwed mothers, youth in the streets,
    members of other Christian
    denominations or other religions,
    indigenous youth, etc.).

    Strengths:
    Qualities and skills of the young
    people themselves: e.g. creativity,
    dynamism, commitment and many
    others.

    Weaknesses:
    Lack of Funds and programs
    Some quality and skills
    Absence of support from various
    sector such as clergy and parents

    1.To establish and


    strengthen the youth’s
    relationship with Christ.
    2.To provide opportunities
    for personal growth.
    3.To encourage community
    development.
    Task
    of Youth Ministry
    “Youth ministry as a way of being a gift
    of the church to the world, and in
    particular to the young, is not a separate
    ministry. It is a ministry found within the
    “Ministry”. Its mission, therefore, is no
    different from the mission of the church.
    The church is meant to be a sacrament
    of God’s love – that is, to teach as Christ
    taught, to live as Christ lived, to serve
    as Christ served, and to love as Christ
    loved. So with youth ministry. The
    mission of youth ministry, therefore, is
    to be Church to, with, for and by youth.”
