INTRODUCTION
Gender equality, is the state of equal ease of access to resources and
opportunities regardless of gender, including economic participation and
decision-making; and the state of valuing different behaviors, aspirations and
needs equally, regardless of gender.

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also
half of its potential. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human
right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and
sustainable development. Moreover, it has been shown that empowering
women spurs productivity and economic growth.

Gender equality is a human right, but our world faces a persistent gap in
access to opportunities and decision-making power for women and men

CONCLUSION
Gender awareness raising aims to promote and
encourage a general understanding of gender-related
challenges, for instance, violence against women and
the gender pay gap. It also aims to show how values
and norms influence our reality, reinforce stereotypes
and support the structures that produce inequalities .
Gender awareness raising plays an important role in
informing women and men about gender equality, the
benefits of a more gender-equal society and the
consequences of gender inequality
