10 REASONS WHY THEY DON’T

1. I'M NOT RELIGIOUS.
The Bible is the best-selling book of all time – 5 Billion copies world wide
Jesus is the most influential person to ever walk in the earth
Most people, even those who don't worship God, agree that Jesus was a good person with a message of
love that changed humanity
Dictionary:
Religion - A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny
Religion - is the practice of faith; that is, religion is the external or ceremonial observance of a set of
beliefs.
James 1:27 ERV

The worship that God wants is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help and keeping yourself
free from the world’s evil influence. This is the kind of worship that God accepts as pure and good.

2. IS FOR AMERICAN/CHOSEN
The Bible has full translations in 531 languages and has portions translated in 2,883 languages.
It is a blessing in that the Word of God is available to anyone
It is a problem in that the different translations can create difficulty in understanding.

the NIV and NLT attempted to take the original thought that was being presented in Greek and Hebrew and

A good technique is to have a set of Scripture verses you know well, and look those verses up in a
translation you are unsure

3. I CAN'T GET PAST GENESIS/STUCK

Don’t look as an old writing, but rather as a love letter you from God.
God wants to reveal Himself to you and this is the information He
has chosen to bring to you.
If someone else, anyone else, wrote you a love letter, would you put
it aside because it was "boring?"
Try journaling a chapter or reflect it
A chapter at a time and reflect upon these questions:

What does this passage say about the nature of God?
What does it say about the nature of people?
What are five things I can be thankful for in this passage?
5. I CAN’T UNDERSTAND IT
Ask God to give you understanding

5. I CAN’T UNDERSTAND IT

6. THE BIBLE IS FULL OF ERRORS
This is common misconception, the bible is not in full errors.
The Bible's margin of error is only less than 1 percent
None of the 1 percent gives any confusion
The more that has been discovered in history and archaeology, the more
continues to prove the accuracy of the Bible

7.I DON'T HAVE TIME.

"Everyone has time to read 10 minutes a day.“
If can't set aside 10 minutes, then the issue isn't really a matter of time, but
of desire.
8. THE BIBLE DOESN'T WORK FOR
ME
Have you experienced disappointment?
Maybe you're feeling as if you've been let down by God?
Maybe you are lonely or suffering?
If you're hurting, then God is inviting you to come to

Him.
Psalms - poured out their hearts to God
Not sure how to start?

Read the psalms. Start with Psalm 1 and read one each
day.
9. THE BIBLE IS
OUTDATED
Rules God gave to a specific group of people during a specific

time, but that doesn't mean it's not beneficial to know up today.
“Jesus sets us free” you may ask, "Free from what?“If you read the
whole thing, you will know with clarity.And also Don’t forget to
seek help from the church ministry, Good news it’s free!
The better we understand the setting, the better we can appreciate

the story.
10. I JUST DON'T WANT
TO
You are missing out on the single most rewarding piece of humanity –
your ability to connect your soul to God.
We can dig deep and find strength. But there is something even richer.
"Is there more?” “What's the point?

Your soul longs for completion, unconditional love, and peace.
We can't convince you to find it, but I will implore you to consider.
10. I JUST DON'T WANT
