He received honors in civil engineering from the University of the Philippines in 1918 and later earned his MS in Physics from Yale University and PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a pioneer in physics, meteorology, and astronomy in the Philippines and was named a national scientist in 1983. He co-founded the Bartol Research Foundation and headed the Philippine Weather Bureau for 11 years.

    the Philippines in 1983 for being a pioneer in
    physics, meteorology, and astronomy in the

    University of the Philippines in 1918;

    • MS in Physics at Yale University in the United States in


    1924; and

    • PhD in Physics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1932

    He was the co-founder of the Bartol Research Foundation.

    Headed the Philippine Weather Bureau for 11 years.

    He was the vice chair for  National Science Development Board in


    1958.

    smallest objects. Also, it helps us to photograph our bones
    and internal organs.
