DEFINITION
It is a condition when uterus changes its normal
position and comes downward into the vagina.
It occur when the pelvic muscles become weak
and not abe to hold the uterus at the right
position
Uterine displacement is the condition when the
uterus bend to the backward side.
CAUSES
Abnormal uterus
Loose pelvic muscles
Abnormal puerperium
Tumor
More than 5 deliveries
SYMPTOMS
Pelvic pain
Back pain
Infertility
Vaginal bleeding
TYPES OF DISPLACEMENT
OR PROLAPSE
I st degree
II nd degree
III rd degree
MANAGEMENT
Proper antenatal and intranatal care
Proper vaginal delivery and avoid chance of injury
Proper postnatal care of mother
Advice for early ambulation
Advice for postnatal exercise to the mother
Avoid heavy activities, chronic cough, constipation and heavy weight lifting
Advice patient to avoid too many pregnancy
Estrogen therapy can be given to the patient
Administer vaginal ring or pessary to control the uterine prolapse
SURGICAL MANAGEMENT
Vaginal repair
Intrauterine packing
Hysterectomy
