6 R’S

REDUCE ,REUSE ,RECYCLING ,RECOVER ,REDESIGN

REMANUFACTURE
REDUCE

1 ST
R
REDUCE
• Reduce the amount of materials and goods you consume. This
might mean limiting the amount of purchase you make in first
place . Do you really need another bottle of nail polish , or
another pair of black shoes? To determine your true needs
And avoid impulse buy
1. Look for products that use less packaging.
2. Buy reusable or deposable items.
3. Maintain products like clothing and appliances so That they
wont be replaced or thrown away more frequently.
BENEFITS OF REDUCING

1. Prevents pollution caused by reducing the needs to

harvest new raw material
2. Reduces green house gas emissions that contributes
to global climate change
3. Saves energy .
REUSE

2ND R
REUSE
Reusing is the act of taking old items that you might
consider throwing away and finding a new use for them .We
can reuse things like
Cereal bags.
Plastic bottles
Egg cartons
Plastic food containers etc.
We should try to reuse all thing we can for eg used medical
stuff like bandages etc. Cannot be reused again but things
like plastic bottles newspapers can be
BENEFITS OF REUSING
• Conserving natural resources.
• Protecting ecosystems and wildlife.
• Reducing demand for raw materials
• Saving energy
• Cheaper than waste collection and disposal
RECYCLING

3 RD
R
RECYCLING
• Recycling is the process of collecting and processing
materials that would otherwise be thrown away as
trash and turning them into new products.
• It really helps environment.
• When Plastic is recycled it can make new bottles and
containers, plastic , picnic tables, lawn furniture,
playground equipment, recycling bins and more.
BENEFITS OF RECYCLING
• Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and
incinerators.
• Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw
materials.
• Conserves natural resources such as water bodies and
minerals
RECOVER

4 TH
R
RECOVER

• Recover means any operation the

principal the result of which is
waste serving a useful purpose by
replacing other materials which
would otherwise have been used to
fulfil a particular function , or
waste being prepared .
BENEFITS OF RECOVERING

• 1. Reduces the amount of waste generated

• 2. Prevent the excess usage of plastic
• 3. Reduces the burning of
• “e – waste “
REDESIGN

5TH R
REDESIGN
• Redesign is one of the process to reduce plastic waste
management it basically means to create a new idea by
redesigning the old material into new material and create a
new product. We mostly redesign things that cannot be
recycled like
• Plastic wrap.
• Ceramics and kitchenware.
• Bubble wrap
BENEFITS OF REDESIGNING
• Reducing overall project costs.
• Reducing the amount and cost of sending waste to
landfill.
• Reducing the carbon emissions of the project.
• Improving the financial and environmental reputation
of the businesses working on the project.
• Saves Energy
REMANUFACTURE

6TH R
REMANUFACTURING
• Remanufacturing implies refurbishing and reselling a
product ; recycling implies reclaiming products for a
different use {example., using a paper to make
cardboard }.”…products usually have lifecycles , but
services usually do not. Remanufacturing preserves the
entire from a product , it Is the rebuilding of a product
to specification of the original manufactured product
using a combination of reused , repaired and new parts
.
BENEFITS OF REMANUFACTURING
• 1 . It reduces pollution across ecosystem
• 2. Requires less energy and helps conserve
natural resources
• 3. Saves fast-depleting landfill space
• 4. Eases the demand on fossil fuel consumption
• 5. Promotes a sustainable lifestyle
We all should Try to take initiative to take part in these 6 r ‘s
because it’s just for saying we all should try our best to indulge in these small process
and turn our land Earth better place to live in these upcoming years for everyone
as a SMALL INITIATIVE CAN RESULT IN A BIG CHANGE
