Victory Through the Holy Spirit
Galatians 5:16, NIV
“So I say, walk by the Spirit,
and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” The holy is active with and Father and the Son during the creation, incarnation and redemption. He inspires the writers of the Holy Scriptures. He guided the life of Christ when He was still on earth. He comes and gives us a strong faith. Those who responded and accepted will be changed into the likeness of Christ. He will spiritual gift to the church to witness for Christ. 5 T’s that need to be overcome 1. Transgression
Ephesians 4:30 – and grieve not the
holy spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. “All our sins must be put away. Every darling indulgence that hinders our spiritual progress must be cut off” John 16:7-8
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is
expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Messages to young people, p. 51
Man is naturally inclined to follow Satan’s
suggestions, and he cannot of himself successfully resist so terrible a foe, unless Christ, the mighty conqueror, dwells in him, guiding his desires, and giving him strength. 2. Temptation What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
There hath no temptation taken you but
such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Messages to young people, p. 55 In this conflict of righteousness against unrighteousness we can be successful only by divine aid. Our finite mind must be brought into submission to the will of the Infinite; the human heart must be blended with the divine. This will bring the Holy Spirit to our aid; and every conquest will tend to the recovery of God’s purchased possessions, to the restoration of His image in the soul. Messages to young people, p.62
Therefore however great one’s spiritual light,
however much he may enjoy of the divine favor and blessing, he should ever walk humbly before the Lord, pleading in faith that God will direct every thought and control every impulse. 3. Trials
But ye shall receive power, after that the
Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 (KJV) Messages to young people, p. 302
Heaven is watching for those who seek
to improve and to become molded to the likeness of Christ. When the human agent submits to Christ, the Holy Spirit will accomplish a great work for him. 4. Troubles In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:13-14 (KJV) 5. Tribulation And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:16-18 (KJV)
