Indoor Small Cell Topology

1. L2 switches in Junction Box should be

connected in a Star Topology with CSS.
2. Max 7 Junction Box can be connected to
an aggregation router.
3. L2 switches will be connected in cascade
fashion inside the Junction Box.
4. There will be total 12 ports available in
junction box, out of which port number 1
and 2 of both the switches are reserved
for uplink and downlink purpose.
5. Maximum 8 Small cell can be connected to
one junction box
6. In ACX2200, 7 junction Box can be
connected with 56 small cells.

 Login & Configuration Process at Juniper Router

• Console cable is require to connect Router with Laptop .

• One end will be connected at Console Port at Juniper Router and other end will be connect
to USB serial Converter(CNCT Cable) which will connect to Laptop.
• Use HyperTerminal(recommended)/Putty for Login Purpose.
• Login: Type root to enter command line interface
• Type % cli (for NIP Configuration)
• > edit
• #load merge terminal
• Copy from notepad (NIP) and Paste to host. ( next time: load overwrite terminal )
• After completion, Press Ctrl+D
• Press enter
• Commit check ( if it is showing successfully, then go to next command)
• Commit
• Exit
• After successfully configuration of NIP, Please login by below credentials and check the
current status.

TROUBLESHOOTING OF L2 SWITCH

1. After NIP Configuration, Check all the Port should come up where Small
Cells are connected.
2. If Port does not come up , check the auto negotiation /swap the TX-RX of
CPRI Cable.
3. After NIP configuration , Login the router to check the status of L2 switch
by below command:
