Pneumatic Hand Tools and
it’s attachment
Pneumatic Tools

Pneumatic Tools are run by

compressed air
They greatly speed up your work
They can dangerous to you and
the equipment you are working
on.
Air Lines

 Pneumatic Tools require

compressed air delivered
through flexible air lines
 Coil up lines after each use to
avoid tripping, or damage to
the air line.
 Inspect regularly and do not
ignore small leaks in air line
When an air line breaks, the compressed air will cause
the hose to whip around violently!
Do not try to catch a broken air line that is whipping
around
Disconnect air line from wall fitting IMMEDIATELY!
Air Quality

Compressed air holds water

Compressor should be drained daily.
All pneumatic tools should be oiled regularly
You may use a few drops of air tool oil at the air inlet.
Oil Air Tools Regularly
Pneumatic (air) Tools

Air tools are NOISY!

Ear protection can be provided just
ASK!
Impact Wrenches
Impact Wrenches

Impact Wrenches can be powered by air, electricity, or

with a hammer
Pneumatic (air) powered impacts have the most power
and torque.
Electric imparts are much quieter
Impact drivers (hit them with a hammer) are useful for
stubborn Phillips head screws
Impact Driver
Impact Wrenches

Impact wrenches can easily twist off a stuck nut or bolt

Impact wrenches should not be used to tighten fasteners.

They will easily over-tighten nuts and bolts

Air Ratchets

Air ratchets can quickly spin on or off a nut or bolt.

If the bolt is stuck, using an air ratchet can “bust your
knuckles”
Use a breaker bar to break loose stuck fasteners
Consider a cordless ratchet, it is just as fast, MUCH
quieter and more convenient (no air lines)
Cordless (electric) Ratchets

Cordless ratchets are just as fast as air ratchets

They are MUCH quieter.
…and more convenient (no air lines)
Pneumatic Hammers & Chisels

Air chisels are VERY noisy!

They are also dangerous to you and the vehicle!
Do not use this tool without special instruction.
Blow Guns

These tools use compressed air to dry off parts that have
been washed in solvent
They are very noisy
They should NOT be used to clean off yourself, or
equipment.
