-The term contemporary has been defined as something
“happening, existing, living, or coming into being during the same period of time” (Merriam-Webster). Assuming this definition, Contemporary Art refers to art of any form and genre that produced in our contemporary time, simply put as “art created today.”

Contemporary Art -Contemporary Art is influenced by the economic, social, political and environmental context where the artist is immersed in. -It can be said that Contemporary Art is the artist’s expression of his perception and comprehension of these contexts. - Contemporary Arts in the Philippines is as diverse as our people.

Contemporary Philippine Art is not confined to the usual genres of the four main art forms, namely, visual, literary, applied and performing arts. Genres are categories of artistic creation and are characterized by similarities in form, style, or subject matter. Many other genres came up which include pure are forms as well as mixed art forms. Conceptual art Conceptual art defines the concept or idea behind the creation of such artworks, not their perceived beauty or artistry.

Installation Art -comprise traditional and non-traditional Media, such as Painting, Sculpture, Readymades, Found Objects, Drawing and Text -an artistic genre that "involves the configuration or installation of objects in a space, such as a room or warehouse. The resulting arrangement of material and space comprises the artwork." It can either be temporary or permanent, constructed in museums or public spaces, and can incorporate a broad range of materials as well as new media.

Photorealism -the quality in art (such as animation or painting) of depicting or seeming to depict real people, objects, etc. - Photorealism, also known as new realism or verism, is a form of contemporary art that uses a photograph to create a highly realistic reproduction of the image in another medium (typically painting, drawing, and other graphic media methods).

Nona Garcia is known for employing the use of stark realism to bring into question what the true meaning of representation is. Her use of photorealism centers everyday objects, cultural artifacts, or people, inviting the viewers to explore the environmental, sociopolitical, and personal histories of her subjects.

Graffiti Graffiti art is a radical contemporary art movement. Coming after the Pop Art movement, Graffiti artists show some of the influence from the Modern art movements that preceded it, such as Pop Art, Abstract Expressionist, or Surrealism.

Performance art There is also a specialized form of fine art, in which the artists perform their work live to an audience. This is called performance art. Performing arts may include dance, music, opera, theatre and musical theatre, magic, illusion, mime, spoken word, puppetry, circus arts, professional wrestling and performance art.

Applied arts -The are all the arts that apply design and decoration to everyday and essentially practical objects in order to make them aesthetically pleasing. -In practice, the two often overlap. Applied arts largely overlaps with decorative arts, and the modern making of applied art is usually called design.

Creative process, as the artist puts more emphasis on now their artwork was made than on the artwork itself. 5. Integrative, as it encompasses religious, moral, spiritual, social, and environmental concerns. 6.
