“ADOPT A PLANT”
"The true meaning of life is to plant Trees, under whose shade you do not expect
to sit." "Love is like a tree, it grows of its own accord,
it puts down deep roots into our whole being.
" "Until you dig a hole, you plant a tree, you water it and make it survive, you
haven't done a thing
Adopting a Plant is
an excellent way to develop good observation skills by looking at plant
details such as flower color, shape, number of petals, height, leaf shape, position,
and many other characteristics.
Now a days, deforestation is common everywhere.people cutting down trees for there
profits but they are aware of the problems which
they will suffer in future.Adopting a plant helps in knowing importance of a plant
and to spread that information to people.
Adopting a plant includes its observation of growth step by step and e individuals also
provide information to government agencies or private organizations that monitor the
status of rare plants.
Creating awarness that how adopting a plant is beneficiary for everyone will
help masses to know about species of plant to save them and to
know about there characteristics.
Keeping plants alive has kept me alive in the midst of this epidemic. Adopting
plants connect us to nature and nature to us, and the results of this relationship are
only beneficial.
As the seeds we sow germinate, a seed of happiness and wellness germinates inside
us as well. This epidemic, along with the stress of school and work, has fueled
emotions of worry and sadness. This stress can be substantially reduced by focusing
on the sustenance of modest indoor plants. According to a Research published in
Environmental Health Perspectives, indoor plants can lower stress and blood pressure
while also improving your mood. They also boost your productivity and focus by
approximately 15%, making them an invaluable ally in your battle against mental
health issues.
It not only improves your mind and body, but it also improves the air around you.
According to a NASA research, plants may eliminate up to 90% of the air
contaminants in your surroundings in just 24 hours. NASA also suggests keeping a
plant every 100 square feet to improve air quality. During these periods,
improving your air quality is equally as important as remaining indoors during the
epidemic.
Growing plants that help you feed yourself is an environmentally sustainable and
healthy alternative to processed foods. Growing and planting plants is a restorative
process that allows you to create your own fresh source of food that reduces trips to
grocery stores and one’s contribution to environmentally degrading agricultural
techniques. Negative agricultural practices contribute to climate change, pollution,
waste and soil degradation as food is being largely produced at hand with
overgrazing and harsh chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Moving towards more
sustainable ways of eating and growing foods goes beyond the benefits of eating
healthy but also greatly contributes to overall environmental sustainability.
Plants do more than collect dust particles; they also break down hazardous compounds
in the air. They decrease carbon dioxide and convert it to oxygen, among other things.
Humidity that is balanced increases the quality of the air in your home.

Snake plants have grown in popularity and with good reason. They're the houseplants that
even black thumbs can show off, thanks to their distinctive lines and hardiness. They can
also be used as air purifiers to improve the air quality in your house.
With tall, rigid sword-shaped leaves up to three feet in height, and coloration in varying
stripes of green and grey with yellow edges, snake plant adds architectural emphasis
suitable to many decor styles, from farmhouse chic to modern sleek.

Snake plants, like other indoor succulents, help to filter the air. This plant is special in that it
is one of the few that can transform carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen during the night. This
property makes it an excellent choice for bedroom décor, as it can aid in the regulation of
healthy airflow. Snake plant is one of those near-indestructible, hard-to-kill house plants that
will survive in low light and with infrequent waterings.
H o w t o o k care of it:
Snake plants like light that is indirect yet consistent, with occasional direct sunlight. They
can adapt to full daylight and will also thrive in dimly lit environments.
Between watering’s, allowing the soil to dry out. Reduced watering to once a month
throughout the winter, or whenever the soil feels dry to the touch. Over-watering might kill
the plant so as under-watering.
Snake plants likes warm temperatures and will suffer if they are exposed to temperature
below 50°F. Placed the plant in an area where it won't be exposed to draughts. It's great
if the temperature is between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. This plant will be killed by
frost.
Removed leaves at the soil level and cut off damaged or mature leaves with sterile
pruning shears, scissors, or a sharp knife so as to encourage new growth. Pruning is
best done during the growing season, which is usually spring or summer. Pruning can
be done in the off-season, but because pruning can stress a plant, it's preferable to
perform it when the plant is actively growing. Removed the tallest leaves from the
snake plant so as to keep it from growing too tall. Also removed any leaves that have
been blemished. The removal of leaves promotes the creation of new leaves.
Caring:
It is a tough plant that is resistant to a wide range of pests and diseases. Mealybugs or
spider mites may cause damage to the plant. In that scenario, I treated the snake plant
with insecticidal soap according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The snake plant is hazardous to both dogs and humans in modest amounts.
Benefits:
While further research on the mental health advantages of indoor plants is needed,
according to 2018 research, the premise that plants have a positive role is well established.
Because of its therapeutic qualities, horticultural therapy is even used in mental health care.
Indoor plants are a low-cost, low-risk option to improve the environment in companies,
schools, and medical facilities.
For a variety of reasons, the snake plant is a popular houseplant. One is that it is quite
simple to maintain. "Potted Sansevieria plants are ubiquitous on all continents," says
Halina Shamshur of Nature ID. "Because they're low-maintenance, they're commonly
planted on windowsills in homes, apartments, and public buildings." Snake plants,
according to Shamshur, can withstand both shade and intense sunlight, as well as
underwatering, draughts, and dry air. They also don't need to be repotted very often and
are rarely infested.
By releasing oxygen and adding moisture to the air, snake plants can help lessen the impact
of airborne allergens like dust and dander. Since poor indoor air quality has been linked
to many health-related issues like allergies and asthma, this is a definite benefit.
Aside from the environmental and physical advantages, they are a lovely and vivacious
addition to any house. Taking care of plants for aesthetic reasons is more than sufficient
motivation to include them into your surroundings. Seeing flora produces a pleasant and
calming environment while also adding touches of green and other hues to your house.
They provide texture and colour to interiors, making them visually attractive and ideal
Most pests and diseases tend to be caused by an overcrowded environment and/or over-
watering. It prefers bright light but will tolerate lower light during winter periods. Also, as
a container plant, it thrives outside during our Durham summers and it isn’t particularly
