Psychological Approach

Psychological approach
According to psychologists, differences in the perceptions of employers
and workers give rise to problems of employer-employee relations. The
two parties view and interpret situations and issues involved in employer-
employee conflict in different ways

Sociological Approach
MK
Sociological Approach
These differences in individual attitudes and behaviour create problems
of conflict and cooperation in industry. The value systems, customs,
status symbols and institutions of the society in which industry functions
affect relations between the parties involved.

Gandhiyan approach
MK
Gandhiyan approach
Gandhian approach to employer-employee relations is based on the
fundamental principles of truth, non-violence and non-possession. If the
employers follow the principle of trusteeship, there is no scope for
conflict of interests between them and labour.

Human relation approach
MK
Human relation approach
The human relations approach highlights certain policies and techniques
to improve employee morale, efficiency and job satisfaction. It
encourages the small work group to exercise considerable control over its
environment and in the process helps to remove a major irritant in labour-
management relations.

Systems Approach
MK
Systems Approach
The system approach was developed by J. P. Dunlop of Harvard
University in 1958. According to this approach, individuals are part of an
ongoing but independent social system. The behaviour, actions and role
of the individuals are shaped by the cultures of the society.
