In the process of Logistics at the port involves- customs formalities and
increase various duties and activities on its arrival to the port of destination
for the clearance of vessels and transport the goods to warehouse.
For this various duties and functions are also needed to be complete.
Which may involve many intermediaries commonly known as shipping
intermediaries.

A party who arranges shipping, warehousing, distribution and


other goods movement on behalf of goods providers and shipping
companies.

•Freight forwarders manage every aspect of the transportation process, from


storing goods before shipment to ensuring they make it through customs.

They do not handle the movement of the goods themselves but acts as an
agent in the logistics network

STEVEDORES
A stevedore is a professional in charge of cargo
operations: loading, distributing and transporting cargo
and other dockside functions.

They are one who works at or is responsible for loading


and unloading a ship's cargo.

These workers unload cargo and transport it to and


from other ships or to a different location within the
port.

boatman and stevedores.
