Properties:
Alkynes are nonpolar, unsaturated
hydrocarbons with physical properties
similar to alkanes and alkenes.
Alkynes dissolve in organic solvents, have
slight solubility in polar solvents, and are
insoluble in water. Compared to alkanes and
alkenes, alkynes have slightly higher boiling
points.
