Kinds of Pronouns

There are four kinds


of pronouns

1. Personal 2. Possessive

1. Personal pronoun
A pronoun that stands for a person or a
thing is called Personal Pronoun.
There are three types of person:

First Third
Second

2. Possessive pronoun
A pronoun that shows possession is called a
possessive pronoun. Example:
1. This is a room. This room is mine .
2. Is this your pen ? Is this pen yours ?

Demonstrative Words
The four demonstrative words are this,
that, these, and those.
3. demonstrative pronoun
A demonstrative pronoun is used to point
out the object or objects to which it
refers. Example:
1. These are some interesting riddles.
2. That is a book
The four demonstrative pronouns are
this, that, these, and those.
This and these indicate something that is close by.

 This is used with singular nouns.


 These is used with plural nouns.

Examples:
This is my book. Demonstrative Pronoun / This book is mine. Demonstrative Adjective
These are my books. Demonstrative Pronoun / These books are mine. Demonstrative Adjective
That and those indicate something that is far away.

 That is used with singular nouns.


 Those is used with plural nouns.

Examples:

4. Interrogative pronoun
A pronoun that is used to ask a question is
called interrogative pronoun. Example:

2. Who gave you this information ?
