Introduction
Museum is a place and an institution that collects, takes

evidence of human history, as well as of nature, and makes
them available for viewing by the general public. The word
“museum” comes from the Ancient Greek “mouseion,”
which meant “seat of Muses,” and it was used as a
philosophical institution or a place for contemplation. In
Rome, the Latin word “museum” was used for places for
philosophical discussions.

collecting, preserving, researching, and displaying objects. In the
last 50 years, a greater emphasis has been placed on exhibitions,
interpretation, learning and audiences. Furthermore, the number
of museums has grown dramatically in n this period, with an
incredible range of themes and subjects covered (Prior, 2002).
Displays are still constructed essentially around objects, thus
making material culture a key constituent of most museum
interpretation narratives. The one who is in-charge of the
museum is called the curator.
