What's Your Favorite Island?

  • I'm fond of Discovery Ridge. (I recommend visiting during a storm.) The shipwreck is nice, but the real gems are its densely green foliage; narrow, between-cliffs canyon; and meandering waterfalls. And I can't forget the stone face at the top.

After the beta, what's your favorite island on the Sea of Thieves?

In and around Dagger Tooth outpost. Thought it was such a dark, scary area where all my closest encounters have been. Me and a fellow pirate sailed past eachother, staring at one another in the rain both standing at the side of our boats. I don't know who that wet, ugly pirate was but me and him were one if only for that moment. The map as a whole is such a beautiful place, I found myself sailing around just staring at islands and points of interest. It was also the first place I spawned!

  • @icecreammanatee

Can't remember the name of it, but it's the most NW Outpost in the Beta.

Very small, tropical cluster of islands with sandy shores and tiny bridges connecting them. At night, there are fires and benches on the shores your crew can sit around and chat or start up some music, waiting for the sun to rise........

Yup...... very romantic moment in a video game...... don't' tell my wife.

  • @IceCreamManatee
Definitely Crescent Isle, during one of my first sessions I hid in the caves from a crew with a Captain's Chest after they sank us. I remember shaking from excitement as I heard their voices & footsteps pass me by. I got sunk often those first few days, but I'll always remember that small victory in securing our most valuable chest and swimming to another island where I got picked up by my crew.

  • Australia is quite nice.

  • Thieves Haven hands down. That place is awesome to chill at.

  • @icecreammanatee Chicken Isle, fits my play style and personality pahaha

  • Ancient Spire Outpost is definitely my favorite place.

  • @erinom3 I love Crescent Isle as well. Feels like a classic, piratey island, but still unique.

  • The new Galeon Grave Outpost has to be my favourite now, I just love the moody atmosphere.

  • @musicmee That was my first spawn point in the beta. I forgot how much I love that one too.

  • My favorite outpost has to be Galleon Grave, but my favorite island is Cannon Cove!

  • Plunder valley is where I've started almost every patrol so to me it represents the start of another adventure.

Same here, it's my favorite for my sure. Getting the galleon into the cove is fun. I like the lore around it too, you can see someone was building a ship, and there's all sorts of cranes and pulleys. Just a fun atmosphere.

  • @icecreammanatee For me it's Thieves' Haven. The inside if the island is perfect to hide your ship in a storm, and where I both first met another online player and stole my first chest from said player. but the Xmark map had the chest spawn under the boulder so I couldn't get it... or at least I thought it was that island.

  • I can't remember the name of the Island I loved.... Shipwreck Cove? Isle? something or other??? It was the last day of the Beta, I had found a captains chest and three seafarers chests playing solo and only cashed in three seafarers, some sneaky pirate must have somehow got on board my sloop and taken it or are they timed? whatever, I only had three chests when I got back to the outpost on my sloop.
Later that day, the last 20 minutes of the Beta involved a fierce battle, our galleon vs an enemy galleon. My aim was to; steal chests from the enemies ship that ultimately defeated the crew I spawned in with mid way through the battle. When the enemy were distracted firing cannons at our ship, I ran around the beach and swam up behind them and I got a chest from the enemies crow's nest and managed to hide it on one of the Northern boulders, then there was a large skirmish between our initial enemy and a new galleon. I do not know which one remained but a galleon remained and a fight between me and them over a captains chest floating in the water ensued. During this mad epic fight for survival and chests myself and one other player remained from our crew as the rest of our crew quit the game. Without ship and crew we had no other choice but to run and to swim to the mermaids. We ended up spawning on a fresh ship with another two guys who were happy to sail us back there to Shipwreck Isle? Shipwreck Cove?
to look for the chests we were fighting over and had hopefully successfully hid away.
We got there and watched the enemy ship sailing off into the horizon as the 10 minutes to close warning popped up. We thought we had lost it all but we still frantically hunted around for the treasure chests upon arrival, hoping to find what we had hid, we searched for a good few minutes and guess what, YES we found them and low and behold the other members of the crew had quit on us so it was just me and this other guy AND our fresh ship sitting in the water and two recovered chests, one Seafarer and one Captains chest. With the wind on our side we sailed back to the nearest outpost, ran aground aggressively, hopped off and cashed in our bounty with less than a minute to spare. We serenaded our ship with the sad song as it sank and the screen faded to black. That Island was the sight of an intense victory over treasure against all odds....A Captains chest that might have been stolen from me and passed hands a few times and shared with a fellow pirate equally as determined to seize the chests! Memorable.

    Gotta love Thieves Haven!

There is a hanging platform around the middle of the island, and if you sail your ship close enough to it you can climb to the crows nest right onto it. The lore of the island is great!

  • Gotta be Thieves Haven for me. Love sailing under the island!

  • I like the island that's not on the map with the hidden underwater cave!

  • I found an island that is not on the map, although I have the coordinates for it. Has a huge shipwreck and hidden cave. Anyone else been there?

  • @dutchdeadschot Yessir! @xDeIuxeEditionx showed me the location.

  • Smuggler's Bay simply because of the 30 min battle I had between our 2 ships, another 2 man ship, and a camping 4 man ship. In the end, everyone lost out on the loot which included a captain chest everyone fought over for a brief period of minutes while dealing with a swam of 15 or so sharks. One of my favourite Sea of Thieves experiences too.

  • This Mermaid island was sick I went to. Under the shipwreck there was a tunnel I swam under and had loads of fish and corals and a secret underwater cave.

  • @dutchdeadschot Apparently there are 4 hidden reefs not on the map. I only had the chance to visit S-16, though.

  • My favorite is hands down shipwreck bay, there's clearly lots of lore behind it and I'm excited to learn more about the events that happened there. Also have a fond memory of sailing solo through the surrounding rocks full speed, making a galleon that was chasing me crash into the island. Indeed a very useful island!

  • @icecreammanatee My favorite Island is the ones where ye left behind all yer golds for me plunderings Arrrggg

  • Crooks Hollow

That piece of land just kept getting better and better.
    10/10

Whoever designed that, knew hes sheets. Every nook and corner felt like it was made with pure passion. It was the only island i was properly impressed by.
    Most where good though.

  • Favorite?

Which ever one I'm on at the moment! :D

  • @bigbam4daze Of the outposts, this one is my favorite.

  • Northern. Northern Island. Because I like Belfast. 🍺 Cheers!

  • To be fair, they all look kind of similar to me. One have a shipwreck, one don't. It needs more variation in the world of SOT.

  • Old Salt Atoll with its shipwreck. ❤

  • @icecreammanatee I'm partial to Thieve's Haven. Big and quite detailed in design. Plus you can sail into the middle if I recall correctly.

  • Crescent Isle for sure. I remember I got into a fight while playing solo, and just before my ship sank I shot myself out of a cannon onto the island. Somehow they didn't notice me.

I was very mad, I rushed to write a huge rant on the forums for whatever reason, then I tabbed back in game and found myself admiring and exploring the beautiful place. :)
