	1814 STATESOFAMERICA	VF25	CACG 145136361	JR-5	Choice	$1700	Popular STATESOFAMERICA Variety, Circulated Cameo Eye Appeal, Beautifully Preserved. The 1814 Capped Bust dime date features three major varieties including the Large Date, Small Date, and STATESOFAMERICA as one word. CAC has only stickered 22 in all grades with this new offering as the lone piece housed in new CAC Grading holder and graded consistent with CAC approval standards. GFRC images accurately illustrate the darker olive-gray fields that nicely contrast with the much lighter devices. A careful 10x review revealed no abrasions or marks as the surfaces are surprisingly pristine given the time in circulation. Under a bright light, the fields present a steely appearance. This Summer Baltimore new purchase looks much better in-hand than on the images.
	1820 Large 0	VF35	PCGS 15015334	JR-6	Choice	$535	Better Die Pairing, Large 0, Notched Stars, CAC Approval. So what are "notched stars" for the 1820 Capped Bust dime date? Notched stars have a die punch defect on the outer star point facing the denticles. This JR-6 example also brings an R3 rarity rating and thick gray encrusted surfaces. A fully choice piece at the assigned grade that will please fans of strict originality. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder with CAC approval. A fresh GFRC buyback.
	1821 Large Date	F15	PCGS 30709261	JR-5	Choice	$315	Large Date, Near-Gem at Grade. This 1821 JR-5 dime does not warrant a long description as the images provide everything one needs to know about this offering. Surfaces are evenly worn and nicely preserved with a natural coin gray patina. Surfaces are well preserved considering the amount of time in circulation. The circulated eye appeal is certainly satisfying. CAC green bean approval provides further validation of the premier quality. Housed in PCGS Gen 5.0 (2015) holder with CAC approval.
	1827 Flat Top 1	F12	PCGS 31995798	JR-2	Choice	$550	Scarce Redbook Variety, Partial Circulated Cameo Presentation, Natural Coin Gray. GFRC Client Buyback. 1827 JR-2 is a rare die variety is that is difficult to locate in any condition with most survivors found at the VG level. This variety is separately listed in the Redbook at Flat Top 1 with a substantial premium over the other common varieties. The die pairing is found with a well struck obverse and weakly struck reverse including denticles. This new example is toned natural gray with partial circulated cameo eye appeal on the obverse. The reverse struck is weak at the center and has a "dished like" appearance at the denticles. A few ancient lines are present on the obverse but more than consistent with the assigned grade. Housed in PCGS Gen 5.0 (2015) Dupont hologram holder with CAC approval.
	1830/29	AU50	PCGS 43488470	JR-4	Choice	$765	New November 18! Popular Series Overdate, Thick Crusty Patina, Bold Strike, Choice Surfaces. The 1830/29 JR-4 die variety has been separately broken out in modern price guides due to the popularity of overdates. Most notable is the elevated 8 digit in the date with bold repunching at the lower right loop. This digit is higher than the surrounding digits. A well preserved example with steely fields covered with uniform gun metal gray-blue on the obverse and crusty copper-gray on the reverse. The obverse is close to fully struck with elevated stars and curls while the reverse eagle is weak at the upper left facing wing and neck. Taken in trade at the 2024 Fall Baltimore show as a prior GFRC sale with record in the Sales Archive. Purchased without knowledge if having been submitted to CAC. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder.
	1834 Large 4	AU55	PCGS 34870461	JR-6	Choice	$675	Frosted Luster, Wicked Good Strike, Near-Gem, Thinning the Herd Collection. This near-gem 1834 JR-6 dime screams originality along with having a wicked good strike. Yes indeed, this piece is a looker that promptly captured my attention. We kick-off with frosted/steely obverse fields with their silver glow under angled lighting. That same glow is a bit more intense on the reverse due to less toning. Strike is hammered resulting in pointed stars and all motifs being in high relief. Accurately graded and housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. I believe this piece has been submitted to CAC, but with or without the green bean, the overall quality and presentation is the same.
	1834 Large 4	AU55	CACG 87189624	JR-4	Choice	$825	New December 13! Large 4, Noteworthy Eye Appeal, Steely Luster, Previously NGC CAC Approved, Emerald Isle Collection. How I wish more early type coins could be so well preserved as this pleasing 1834 JR-4 Large 4 dime. Steely surfaces are toned with rose, gray, and peripheral aquamarine shades. Obverse toning is lighter and facilitates rose colored reflective luster while the reverse has a thicker rose-gray "skin". Strike is fully executed other than the fine details in the eagle's talons. Fields are entirely unabraded too. Overall, a thoroughly pleasing offering for collectors who can relish in strict originality and natural toning. Previously sold by GFRC June 2021 when housed NGC holder with edge view insert and CAC approval. Our consignor has crossed the coin into a CACG Legacy holder with this work being done for the buyer.
	1836	AU55	NGC 4061050003	JR-1	Original	$615	Near-Choice Original, City by The Bay Collection.. Consignor Price Reduction. Deep color fills the rims of this late-date Bust dime, contrasting with silver-shaded devices. Most of the protected areas exhibit more intense toning, while high points are lighter. JR-1, with star 13 nearly touching the curl. Three JR varieties exist for this year, with the JR-1 and JR-3 being slightly more challenging than the JR-2. A few field lines in the left obverse field are noted. NGC has graded 366 pieces total, with 20 examples in AU55 and 167 coins finer. The NGC price guide is $650 in AU55. Housed in a NGC Gen 17 (2004-2008) holder. PCGS #4528.
