Last summer, one of Princess Diana's gowns was auctioned off. Now, another one of her prized possessions could soon be yours. Back in 1997, Princess Diana attended a Swan Lake performance wearing a stunning necklace covered in 178 diamonds and five pearls. Sadly, Princess Diana passed away before the former crown jeweler Garrard finished the matching earrings, but both pieces are appropriately nicknamed the Swan Lake Suite. Twenty years later, the sparkling necklace is being auctioned through Guernsey’s auction house, according to US Weekly.

This isn't the first time the necklace is going up for sale. In 2010, a Ukranian couple splurged on the historic piece for $632,000, People reports. But that was actually a steal. Because now, the diamond necklace is expected to go for $12.1 million during the upcoming auction. That's a major return on investment, but it makes sense, because there's so much significant meaning behind the necklace. Princess Diana passed away in a tragic car accident just two months after she wore the beautiful piece of jewelry to one of her last public appearances. But Princess Diana's legacy continues to live on. And whoever wins the necklace will truly be lucky.
