Serengeti Energy, is an independent power producer, backed by European DFIs such as KfW, NDF, Norfund, stoa, Swedfund, and Proparco, and collaborates with international investors, lenders, host governments, and local utilities. Our focus is on generating reliable, cost-effective renewable energy in sub-Saharan Africa with minimal social and environmental impact, while actively engaging and empowering local communities.

We strictly adhere to the international best ESG practices, including all IFC Performance standards. Our power plants produce dependable, cost-effective renewable energy while lowering GHG emissions.

PURPOSE

Serengeti Energy develops, builds, owns, and operates renewable energy power plants across sub-Saharan Africa. We adhere strictly to international best practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), including all IFC Performance Standards. Our goal is to provide dependable, cost-effective renewable energy solutions that contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions in the region.

MISSION

We aim to support sustainable economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa through the provision of electricity from renewable energy sources. We aim to increase the supply of affordable renewable energy across the region, delivering significant social, economic, and environmental benefits. We achieve this by developing and sourcing for our own projects and partnering with aligned renewable energy partners to further our mandate.
