Strapless

If you're rocking a pretty strapless dress to prom, you'll want to make sure your bra is strapless, too. If you're a C-cup or smaller, go down a size on the band size so it's super-snug so it stays put all night. Strapless body suits are a great option if you're larger than a C-cup. They offer major support and don't slip down at all, so you'll be able to dance the night away without constantly tugging up your bra.

One-Shoulder

One-shoulder dresses are seriously in style, but come with those pesky bra issues. You can try a strapless, but if you want a little more support, look for a convertible bra that allows you to remove one strap.

Form-Fitting

If you're going for a super-fitted dress or clingy gown, make sure your lower half is smooth and free of visible panty lines. Lycra shorts that feel like second skin will give you that seamless look that you can still move around in.

Halter

Halter dresses are super-flattering, making them a popular pick for prom. To keep your bra straps from poking out, grab a convertible bra. You can make the straps go around your neck in the style of your dress, or just remove them completely.

Open Back

You don't have to ditch the bra to rock a backless gown. Strapelss and backless front bras with sticky side wings are seriously life-saving. You'll get all the coverage—without the straps. For super low backs, make sure your undies are low-rise, hipster style, so there's no chance of you bending over and giving the whole dance floor getting a peek!

V-Neck

For gowns with plunging necklines, a low-plunge bra will keep you covered where you need it, while leaving you bare where you don't!

Sheer

With sheer necklines and backs, it can be tricky to rock a bra without it peeking out. If a strapless or front bra won't work, skip the bra, but avoid showing too much with sticky nipple covers. They're a lot more comfortable than they sound, and can save you from any embarassing accidental flashes.

Nude

A nude dress can look seriously gorge on all skin tones, but you have to be SO careful with what you wear underneath. Find a bra and underwear that is as close to your skin color as possible, staying far away from black and white, which will be majorly noticeable under the bright dance floor lights. Luckily, there are finally brands that cater to girls whose "nude" isn't beige, so it's easy to find nude undergarments to match your skin tone.
