Howdy, I'm Anna,

I run my own photography business, have done for well over a decade now, its my pride & joy - Pixie Rouge Photography. I specialise in lifestyle photography, people, nature & places.

On the side of Pixie Rouge I run a blog and website called She Hunts Op Shops, I have a healthy obsession with op shops & I enjoy photographing them, the two just married together. Plus, our house is almost completely furnished from op shops, vintage stores, side-of-the-road finds and hard rubbish piles, you name it. There’s just so much good second-hand stuff out there! Over the years She Hunts has grown to epic proportions beyond my wildest dreams, and I love that I am able to fully express my values. One thing I am always humbled by with my social media is the beautiful amount of engagement & interaction I have from my wonderful audience.

My followers are like minded op shoppers, nature lovers, hipsters and families, all caring for those we love & our homes. The love on my social media pages always blows me away.

My husband Sean & I met over 18 years ago, together we have our daughter Frankie, she’s almost 7. Sean and I travelled the world over with each other, until we started calling Ōamaru home. Now, all we want to do is explore New Zealand, gaining treasures on our way and experiencing nature’s beauty with our darling little girl.

Sean has a degree in Sustainability and together we own Awamoa Sanitation in Ōamaru, a bustling and busy septic tank & portaloo hire business.

Sean is also a talented videographer & films weddings with me. He documents our lives and our adventures and his passion for sustainability and conservation, is really just a deep love of nature.

Together as a family we travel around New Zeanald country towns photographing & filming op shops, vintage stores, airbnbs & restaurants while creating op shop & nature adventures.
(niche, we know)
I turn these adventures into guides on my website, and truth be told, they are pretty wonderful.

We recently worked closely with Shoalhaven City Council to create a She Hunts op shop & nature guide for the whole Shoalhaven area. We travelled around for 9 days, supplied a full gallery of 200 photos, 2 short films & 10 social media posts over 4 different social media platforms.
We met Shoalhaven Mayor Amanda Findley for breakfast & went op shopping with her, we put a huge focus on Shoalhavens Buy Back Centres & had a VIP tour of the Norwra Waste Centre focusing on recycling, sustainability & diverting waste from landfill. We supported & promoted small local business, we adventured into beautiful forests & beaches. We covered 21 op shops to create a comprehensive op shop & nature guide for the whole of Shoalhaven.

I have created a whole bunch of She Hunts op shop & nature weekend adventures HERE

I have created a Melbourne op shop guide for a huge amount of suburbs, you can see that HERE

We fell in love with She Hunts Op Shops and her highly engaged audience and invited Anna , Sean and gorgeous Frankie on a trip to the Shoahaven. Their specialty is seeing the quirky beauty in what some locals may think is ordinary in their own towns. Their focus on sustainability, local characters and our humble op shops was a great way to promote lesser known regional towns to the modern young travellers and families who care about nature and our environment looking for a different and unique tourism experience.

On their 9 days in the Shoalhaven, they covered so much ground across 10+ towns and provided us with a constant stream of social media goodness followed by a number of blogs which were were able to promote through our own channels. The engagements and comments were more than we expected with people immediately trip planning after seeing out beautiful region through their creative and loving eyes.

They embraced our locals and featured them in a great light, even profiled our mayor and our waste departments buy back centres and recycling initiatives.

Along with op shops and forest adventures, they are real foodies and it was great for our cafes and local producers to be profiled for their unique offerings too.

The care and authenticity this family brings is a world apart from a traditional ‘influencer’ and what joy it was working with them and seeing how much they genuinely loved the experience made the entire process a pleasure! And not to mention the return on investment was huge - our image libraries now bulging with great content.

I couldn’t recommend them to other regional tourism bodies highly enough, let your retro and quirky side shine through whilst at the same time receiving beautiful images and videos for your own promotion and to assist your operators to promote themselves too!’

Retro Sands Home - Airbnb

‘It was an absolute pleasure and honour hosting Anna and her family at our holiday rental, Retro Sands Beach House, in Vincentia, Jervis Bay. The Shoalhaven City Council had asked Anna to create a guide using photography and film of the Shoalhaven area, featuring not only some of the most beautiful countryside and towns, but also some amazing local businesses including plenty of very quirky op shops of course. We were absolutely chuffed when we discovered they wanted to stay at our unique, retro beachcomber for 2 nights whilst they were in Jervis Bay. With our combined love of all things retro, we were the perfect match. As a small business, Anna’s visit, although short and sweet, introduced us to her very large social media following, which are exactly the type of guests we hope to attract. Anna took some amazing photographs of our property, capturing the true essence and love we have for our house. Within a few minutes of her 1st post, so many lovely, positive comments came flooding in and we instantly gained many new followers. We were also featured in her actual guide as a recommended place to stay, along with some photos of our property. With this sort of exposure, we are sure it will bring lots of new guests our way that also share our love for all things retro. We are most grateful for this. Anna is not your run of the mill photographers. Her originality and passion is evident in every photo she takes. Please check out her website and social media pages to view her outstanding work.’
